OPERATIONS & SALES ANALYST (H/F)

The company:
GYS is a family owned French manufacturer of Welding and Battery Charging Equipment. The GYS group has grown very rapidly in the last 15 years and currently employ around 700 people, mainly in Laval in France but also accross the world in the different offices.
GYS UK started in 2008 and now has a team of 30 (including 2-3 French people). The comany is based in Rugby, in Warwickshire, located 1.5 hour north of London and known as the heart of England and a major transport hub.
The job:
The position of Operations Assistant reports to the Operations Manager and the role will involve direct contact with all members of the team including the field-based sales team, other office and warehouse colleagues and the Sales Managers. Externally there will be opportunities to talk to distributors (a mix of major national companies and small family businesses).
The scope of the role is vast and requires flexibility. Although the position will evolve based on individual capabilities, the core of the position will involve the following tasks:
Sales Reporting :
- Provide monthly sales & activity reports to the National Sales Manager
Stock Management :
- Purchase ordering
- Place purchase orders in line with GYS purchase stock policy
- Adjustment of maximum and minimum stocks in concertation with Sales Managers
- Anticipate future demand (new products, promotions) and protect against freak demand (punctual peaks)
- Monitor deliveries and back orders and inform relevant colleagues of delays
- Stock control
- Review old or over stock regularly and make proposals to clear
Marketing :
- Translate marketing documents such as technical data sheets and manuals
- Support the Marketing Manager when required
Internet Business :
- Manage all aspects of the Amazon business
- Optimize product listings and advise additions/deletions
- Monitor sales and returns patterns and explain changes
- Monitor vendor performance
- Measure sales and profitability and achieve sales target
- Administer our eBay vendor account
- Monitor customer online activity
Occasional support to sales administration and warehouse in busy periods :
- Answer the phone and enter orders in the system
- Provide support in the warehouse
A two weeks training will be provided in Laval in France prior to arrival in England. An immediate requirement will be to get familiar with the GYS group and its products.
