INTERNSHIP INDUSTRIAL LOGISTICS ENGINEER (M/F)

Job description

MISSION:

 

Working within the scheduling department (4 people) in a rapidly growing production unit, you will work under the production unit manager and alongside the head of scheduling in order to further develop the logistics section and cope with the introduction of new production lines.

To achieve this, you will update SAP/APO databases and analyse the restrictions of items in relation to machines from a scheduling point of view. The project consists, initially, of setting up a method for managing the specific nature of the workshop and, secondly, of analysing this method, which should allow a plan of action for reducing these specific features to be established.

You will also develop a means of transferring autonomy for workshop scheduling to an everyday grid, whilst respecting customer and industrial restrictions. Within this framework, you will introduce tools to help workshops with decision-making and performance monitoring indicators.

Finally, you will be involved in the production unit’s approach towards continuous improvement, optimising work flows and reducing work in progress.

PROFILE:

 

 You are a student at a School of Engineering specialising in industrial logistics and you would like to gain some significant experience working in the scheduling department of a production unit making more than 12 million items per year.

You are interested and curious and you would like to apply your knowledge of production management tools and lean manufacturing within a large international group.  You have an in-depth understanding of Office suite, in particular Excel, and ideally knowledge of SAP.

This mission requires discipline, organisation, interpersonal skills and an aptitude for dealing with setbacks. An ability to take the initiative, a good sense of team spirit, a capacity to adapt and analyse and a good technical background will help you succeed in this mission.
