About the Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in planning, directing and controlling the Capital Project activities of worldwide Plant Expansions and Modernizations. The incumbent is responsible for assisting in planning, estimating, scheduling, engineering design, procurement and delivery of materials and equipment, construction contracting, contract administration, cost control, equipment installation and start-up, and management reporting.

 

Primary Responsibilities

·  Interface between a diverse, often multi-cultural Team to ensure the objectives and scope of the project are completed on time and within budget.
·  Obtain, develop, and communicate project status information and progress reports for management.
·  Develop and provide project status information and progress reports for Goodyear Associates as well as vendors, contractors and consultants.
·  Monitor design, procurement and construction progress.
·  Assist with Maintaining control of project scope, schedule, costs, quality, safety, risk and stakeholder management.
·  Contribute to project management process improvements.
·  Assist in Training new team members on our processes and tools.
·  Assist in documenting Lessons Learned and Project Close out criteria.
·  Travel may be required as part of execution of these responsibilities.

 

Required Education and Experience

·  Required – Bachelor’s degree in Science/Technology/Engineering/Math. Due to legal requirements Latin America candidates must possess Engineering Degree.
·  4 - 6 years of manufacturing, construction, or engineering design experience.
·  Desired: PE, PMP or similar engineering / project management certifications.  MS, PhD in related engineering field.

 

Skills and Abilities

·  Must be able to coordinate cross-functional teams with strong communications skills.
·  Must be proficient with SharePoint, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Tools.
·  Business and financial acumen is beneficial.
