Role Summary/Purpose

The purpose of the job is the development and management of all engineering activities to deliver quality designs of Offshore Wind Turbine Towers and verify the suitability of the Offshore Wind turbine structures into the site specific conditions of the offshore wind farm.
With his structural engineering background the Structural Engineer is able to use GE Tower and Foundation design tools to develop his own design proposals
Essential Responsibilities

·  Elaborate tower and foundation design proposals.
·  Leading development of new Towers and components such TMD’s
·  When required, interface with external partners involved in the wind farm projects: customers, certification body, foundations subcontractors.
·  Internal execution of the engineering tasks required for site suitability and supporting GE proposal (load site specific assessment, site specific offshore foundation, all related to site specific data like wind, wave and metocean) 
·  Planning and monitoring of GE activities on the above for on time delivery of GE scope of work. 
·  Interface coordination of activities at project level to support Project Certification, for primary and secondary steel when needed.
·  Development of comprehensive network-strategy between R&D and manufacturing, transport, installation, wind farm engineering, and sales. 
·  Interaction with other departments and internal partners in GE to achieve the most cost-effective design solutions 
·  Proactive in constantly improving the processes in order to allow GE to be excellent in tendering and execution phase in terms of reliable and cost optimized solution and time to market.Élaborer

·  Piloter
le développement de nouvelles tours et de nouveaux composants tels que les TMDInteragir,
le cas échéant, avec les partenaires externes participant aux projets de parc
éolien : clients, organisme de certification, sous-traitants intervenant
sur les fondations.
·  Veiller
à l’exécution interne des tâches d’ingénierie nécessaires pour l’adéquation du
site et pour consolider l’offre de GE (évaluation spécifique au site de
chargement, fondations offshore spécifiques au site, ensemble des données
spécifiques au site telles que le vent, les vagues et les conditions
météorologiques et océaniques).
·  Assurer
la planification et le suivi des activités de GE mentionnées ci-dessus pour
définir le champ d'action de GE dans le respect des délais.
·   Gérer
la coordination des activités au niveau du projet afin de favoriser la
certification du projet, pour les aciers principaux et secondaires, le cas
échéant.
·   Développer
un réseau/une stratégie complet(e) entre les services R&D et Production,
Transport, Installation, Ingénierie des parcs d’éoliennes et Ventes .
·  Interagir
avec les autres services et partenaires internes de GE dans le but de réaliser
les solutions de conception les plus rentables. 
·  Être
proactif(ve) pour améliorer de façon continue les processus, afin de permettre
à GE d’exceller lors des phases d’appel d'offres et d'exécution en matière de
solutions fiables et économiques, et de délais de commercialisation

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Engineering degree / university Degree: Offshore, Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering. Project Management.

·  Relevant experience in product development and engineering.
·  Experience in structural design, loads, component development, test and validation, transport and installation. 
·  Experience in project management.
- Knowledge in large structures dynamics, fatigue and extreme load cases. 
·  General knowledge of manufacturing and construction processes.
-
·  Fluent in English. 
·  High level of team working, communication skills and project management.

Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.
