Role Summary/Purpose

As a Systems Engineer part of the Systems team, you will define the system level strategy to meet the product requirements. The Systems Engineer will have responsibility for system level trades and decisions, design cost, contribution to and approval of requirements (through DMs) and customer facing technical documents and direct contributions to projects as a system engineer. The successful candidate will develop strategies to meet LOCE targets.
Essential Responsibilities

• Provide systems level expertise through all phases of product development, from requirements definition through design and development, validation and product life-cycle support
• Lead and/or oversee system conceptual design studies and trade-offs that address product CTQs such as cost, power performance, noise, reliability & operability
• Drive design cost targets at system level through cost-out and innovative design implementation into product
• Work with engineering cross functional teams to drive design cost targets at sub-system/component level
• Contribute to and approve customer facing technical documents
• Demonstrates accountability for strategic initiatives affecting the Low Wind Speed platform of products
• Establish design strategies, contribute to multi-generation system and technology plans in conjunction with Machine Head, Rotor and Towers subsystems
• Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through analysis, preparation and presentation of technical material to internal and external audiences
• Demonstrate effective risk mitigation and technical problem solving
• Drive simplification and standardization of best practices into engineering analyses, validation, and design execution
Qualifications/Requirements

• Master’s or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil & Aerospace Engineering
• Experience working on system-related projects, issues and/or technologies.
• Experience in driving design cost targets at system level
• Ability to work in a matrix organizational environment
• System or product-level mindset
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills for simulation results interpretation; Creative problem solving skills
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to work in global organization
• Ability to break-down complex issues, determine possible courses of action, and enable effective decision making

• Field issues, test and/or validation experience
• Knowledgeable about Wind Turbine design practices and 3rd party certification requirements
