Role Summary/Purpose

As a member of the High Performance Computing as a Service (HPCaaS) team, the Staff Technical Product Manager will focus on product leadership and will work to influence the product portfolio for the team. You will maintain the “connective tissue” between the teams who rely on HPCaaS in their business and the team that provides the service. This role will involve mastery of requirements, management of priorities & the related HPCaaS pipeline which will ensure our service is aligned.
Essential Responsibilities

In this role you will:

·  Partner strategically with a broad global stakeholder community to understand business priorities, needs, challenges and outcomes aligned to the HPCaaS product portfolio.

·  Work with cross-functional teams to deliver features, capabilities, services and tools aligned to global stakeholder needs and the HPCaaS product portfolio.

·  Conduct customer and stakeholder interviews – develop and elaborate on personas.

·  Using Agile Methodologies, translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units through decomposition and planning.

·  Demonstrate expert level skill in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity.

·  >Develop and manage product backlog and pipeline so that at least 1-2 iterations of backlog are pipelined and ready for action.

·  Own the short-term roadmap for MVPs and scheduled releases of product.

·  Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of stakeholder problems, priorities and needs.

·  Demonstrate superior persuasion and influencing skills that ensure alignment between customer, product manager, service owner, architects and Engineering teams.

·  Engage frequently with development and operational teams to facilitate discussion, planning, prioritization, testing/validation and to provide clarity, refinement and acceptance of final deliverables. Contributes to design activities, decisions and debate to drive best possible outcomes for the team and stakeholders.

·  Evolve current legacy service and solution offerings into next generation capabilities aligned to new and emerging business needs.

·  >Develop, maintain and publish the HPCaaS service catalog and digital web presence as a “single point of reference” for the service to the global stakeholder community.

·  Partner with operational experts to design, build, implement and maintain a robust metrics reporting capability for the service to provide transparency into service utilization, total cost of ownership (TCO) and quantification of value.

·  Embrace change and promote the identification of service improvement opportunities across the global team. Aggressively pursue plans/take action to execute with a continuous improvement mindset.

·  Drive effective written and spoken communication within the team and externally to stakeholders.

·  Mentor junior employees within the function on core competencies related to technical product management.
Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

·  A minimum of 5 years of experience leading and managing complex technical IT product/project delivery related to enterprise technical computing infrastructure or application products.

Desired Characteristics

Technical Expertise:

·  A minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in High Performance Computing (HPC) and/or Simulation Based Engineering and Science (SBES).

·  Demonstrated ability to design, develop and maintain creative solutions to complex software, engineering toolchain and application problems.

·  Experience delivering complex technical projects focused on infrastructure management and operations.

·  Demonstrated expert-level competency using project management tools (MS Project, etc.)

·  Demonstrated experience with delivering solutions using data warehouse reporting and dashboarding tools (Business Objects, Tableau, etc.)

·  Demonstrated financial planning and analysis competency.

·  Demonstrated willingness to adapt, change and learn new skills, competencies and approaches quickly and with an open mind.

·  Trained and experienced in the usage of Agile Methodologies.

·  Green Belt certified.

·  Exposure to ITIL and Lean Six Sigma practices.

Business Acumen:

·  Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements, and estimating efforts.

·  Demonstrates knowledge on technical topics, such as scalability, parallel computing, virtualization, cloud services, and data management.

·  Skilled in negotiation to align stakeholders and communicate a single synthesized perspective to the team. Balances value proposition for competing stakeholders.

·  Demonstrates knowledge of technologies in the market to help make buy vs build recommendations, scope MVPs, and to drive timing decisions.

·  Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses across cultural, geographic and business boundaries.

·  Ability to anticipate future needs, requirements or course corrections necessary before they are articulated by stakeholders.
