Role Summary/Purpose

The Staff Software Engineer will lead design and programming of major features for new Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Portfolio Project Management (PPM) software being built to support large scale engineering projects at nuclear power stations. Come be a part of a solution for carbon-free emissions in the power generation industry.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Staff Software Engineer you will:

·  Capture system level requirements by brainstorming with Architects, Data Scientists, Businesses & Product Managers
·  Identify scope of work, provide initial estimates, generate backlog items
·  Maintain code quality through best practices, unit testing and code quality automation
·  Understand whole product, its modules and interrelationships
·  Design API’s and information exchange between modules
·  Be responsible for providing technical leadership, defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure
·  Day-to-day activities utilize Python and associated web application development frameworks and demand a breadth of expertise for making trade-offs in diverse technologies from user authentication to API design
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited
college / university or equivalent
·  Minimum of 3 years of professional, hands-on experience in web application development

Desired Characteristics

·  Bachelor Degree or
higher in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math major from a regionally
accredited college / university or equivalent
·  Substantial demonstrated experience implementing software features for commercial web applications in production and targeting one of the public clouds
·  Skill communicating visually; A portfolio of diagrams, exhibits and maps for articulating software requirements and implementation strategies would be highly valued in this role
·  Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
·  Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry trends
·  Ability to take ownership of significant modules in the code line
·  You have demonstrated experience operating in a large distributed engineering organization
·  Continuously measures deliverables of self and team against scheduled commitments
·  Effectively balances different, competing objectives
