Role Summary/Purpose

The Project Software Engineering team delivers customer success through the implementation of software services. GE delivers value to our customers across utilities and telecoms by delivering business outcomes underpinned by the Asset Management core products and applications, with a focus on high quality solutions.
Essential Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly skilled team player who is passionate about testing. In this role you will help lead and participate in efforts regarding how we approach manual and automating testing of our Mobile Enterprise solution. You will need to have a global view on how we create, maintain, and share our testing across the globe internally and with our customers. You will need to be an excellent collaborator, working across several groups from Product Engineering to Services and to Support, making sure our testing approach is unified and always provides value to our customers.

·  Experience working with diverse teams and environments within a Customer focused organization, where our customers are large & medium sized electric, gas and telecommunications companies

·  Agile mindset and ability to work within one or more Scrum Teams across multiple customers and/or projects

·  Familiar with and understand how enterprise Mobile applications are developed, tested and deployed; from client-side to server-side, including general infrastructure setup and cloud environments

·  Able to define, shape and articulate Customer requirements into test plans and quality software

·  Ability to apply Test Driven Development practices to all Software Development work; collaborating with others on where best to focus unit tests, functional tests, manual tests and automated tests

·  Help create and maintain an automated testing framework based on tools such as Katalon Studio, qTest and JUnit

·  Provide guidance and training to the other Asset Management Mobile software engineers regarding the setup and use of the automated testing framework

·  Carry a testing and quality mindset into everything you do and say

·  Interface with project managers, project engineers and customers on general and specific issues

Additional Responsibilities:

·  Analyze, define and prioritize Business and Functional requirements and processes and propose technical solutions to meet the customer’s outcomes; all while using a Test Driven Development approach

·  Ability to take ownership of issues and get them resolved using self-driven initiative

·  Good understanding of DevOps concepts and how testing is a key pillar to the success of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment

·  Experience writing automated test scripts using tools such as Katalon Studio, Selenium or Junit

·  Participate & lead technical sessions with other teams regarding the use of and implementation of an automated testing framework

·  Comfortable doing code reviews, looking for test driven approach from developers

·  Cover both white, grey and black box testing of our applications and assist developers with unit testing

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or related discipline with proven experience in a technical consultancy role within the industry, direct customer facing experience, and working experience in a Quality Driven Software Solution environment

·  Minimum of 5 years related work experience with software engineering and testing teams, implementing a suite of mobile products and engaging directly with customers

Eligibility Requirements:

·  Experience with one or more of the following languages: Java, Groovy, Javascript, Python, JSON or XML

·  Experience with one or more of the following practices: web services, micro services, REST API’s, Soap, XCode or Android Studio

·  Hands on experience with one or more of the following: Katalon Studio, Selenium, Appium, qTest, RunnerX or Postman API

·  Knowledge or use of Linux, SQL Server, Couchbase, PostgreSQL and other systems

·  Great understanding of OO software design principles, patterns, algorithms, data structures, and multi-threading concepts

·  Multiple years of professional experience testing multi-tiered client-server systems

·  Experience working with global teams / partners

·  Envisions technology landscape best practices and translates them to requirements, architecture and tooling.

·  Defines governance models and engagement processes for use by dependent functions.

·  Viewed as an authority on scalability/supportability, an arbiter on design/development viability and an agent that safeguards customer investments against obsolescence and limits to expansion.

·  Leverages knowledge of Electric, Gas or Telecommunications markets and customer segments to establish further credibility in the eyes of the customer.

·  Acts in a consultative capacity and is provided access to key decision makers throughout the customer account.

·  Establishes strong relationship with key decision makers and other leaders at multiple levels within customer organization.
