Role Summary/Purpose

The Staff Build & Release Engineer is responsible for defining, designing and implementing the Build and Release strategy for across all versions and releases. Provides the vision to understand, design and embed Continuous Integration process within SDLC. Requires deep understanding of software architecture and development, scalability, availability & performance considerations and its impact on release engineering.
Essential Responsibilities

In this role you will:

·  Leads discussions about Release Engineering across one or product families.

·  Provide expertise in Design, Architecture, Development and Shipping from Release Engineering perspective

·  Lead impact assessment and technology selection decisions related to Build and Release Engineering plan and strategy for the whole release.

·  Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management

·  Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning

·  Handle code deployments in all environments

·  Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve

·  Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards

·  Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects

·  Manage CI and CD tools with team

·  Improve infrastructure development and application development
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent experience

·  Three years previous experience in development and operations, or related IT, computer, or operations field

Eligibility Requirements:

·  Must be willing to work out of an office located in Hoffman Estates, IL
Desired Characteristics

Technical Expertise:

·  Previous experience with software development, infrastructure development, or development and operations

·  Strong Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Docker, Jenkins, ElectricFlow

·  Experience with Windows infrastructures, database SQL (MS SQL), CI/CD tools

·  Powershell scripting,

·  Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, Agile workflow methodologies

·  Tenacious problem solver demonstrating an innate curiosity and passion for solving difficult problems.

·  Up-to-date on latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently

·  Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management

·  Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Domain Knowledge:

·  Prior Healthcare Domain Experience a plus

·  Offers data solutions as a method to achieve bus objectives

Leadership:

·  Has the ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary

·  Voices opinions and presents clear rationale. Uses data or factual evidence to influence

·  Recognizes collaborative behavior and participates in collaborative activities
