Role Summary/Purpose

GE Additive's Software organization is seeking an experienced UX Designer with an ambitious spirit, strong visual thinking/design skills, and the ability to navigate complex, ambiguous problems at both strategic and tactical levels!
Essential Responsibilities

The successful candidate should feel comfortable working in the early stage of product development, where not all requirements are fully defined, and creativity and out-of-the-box thinking is required. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate ideas effectively (using flow diagrams, wireframes, interactive prototypes, etc) and generate production-quality UI deliverables (such as annotated spec sheets, themes/skins, and HTML/CSS).

·  Be a core member of a dynamic, fast-paced GE Additive team focused on software to support key Additive workflows and use cases!

·  Facilitate and participate in customer and user interaction in many forms, from generative research (e.g. contextual inquiry) to Sprint demos to evaluative research (e.g. usability testing)

·  Use insights from quantitative and qualitative research to help inform business and design decisions

·  Design workflows, interactions, and collaborate with varying levels of fidelity to communicate with peers and partners

·  Utilize user-centered design principles and standard methodologies to produce high-quality visuals such as: personas, journey maps, scenarios, storyboards, illustrations, user interfaces, data visualizations, icons

·  Drive the design and evolution of system-wide UX style, components, and patterns

·  Support development of GUI and implement final fit-and-finish within production code base

·  Collaborate effectively with remote Agile teams

·  Participate in Agile team processes to iteratively deliver customer value

·  Guide and produce effective documentation and communication of interaction design, via wireframes, mockups, and requirements engineering
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Interaction, Graphic, or Industrial Design preferred or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) , or equivalent work experience

·  7+ years of hands-on industry experience in customer/user experience and product/service design

·  Experience crafting and prototyping new concepts, as well as refining and sustaining existing products/services

·  Independence & quick decision-making abilities, good judgement for raising flags when appropriate

·  Ability to work in fast-paced and dynamic environment

·  Experience supporting teams in Agile or Scrum environments

·  Passion for design thinking and lean UX methodologies

·  Ability to collaborate with technical resources to influence algorithms and other technology for improved customer experience

·  Background in B2B SaaS, familiarity with CAD/CAM/CAE and Additive Manufacturing

·  Familiarity with Front-End UI platforms

·  Familiarity with IIOT and Analytics concepts

·  Familiarity with UI prototyping and documentation tools

·  Familiarity with Machine Learning and Deep Learning concepts

·  Familiarity with MES

·  Degree or significant coursework in design, customer experience, human factors, or related areas from an accredited university or college
