Role Summary/Purpose

The Sr Staff UX Interaction Designer will work as a valued team member of an Agile software development team and will work developing high quality software products that meet customer needs in a competitive and exciting work environment. As a team member, you will contribute to the teams' delivery of high quality software from design, code development, testing and then through release.
Essential Responsibilities

As a Sr Staff UX Interaction Designer, you will:

·  Design new components that contribute software design systems and document intended usage

·  Frame, scope and lead the execution of a design project

·  Lead design team and cross-functional team discussions relative to user experience projects and then leads constructive design critiques

·  Coach and consult with team members on Agile / Lean UX methodologies

·  Lead and contribute to effective documentation and communication of software design (via wireframes, mockups, and requirements engineering)

·  Research and evaluate emerging design, technology, industry, regulatory and market trends while influencing changes through others

·  Be accountable to functional business for engineering and customer deliverables

·  Support New Product Introduction (NPI) teams developing engineering solutions that meet product solutions and wow customers

·  Work within software department ecosystem to gather and support other disciplinary opinions and inputs

·  Ensure product artifacts are maintained and organized with quality and automation

·  Support other GE Businesses with growing User Experience expertise
Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM)

·  Drives transparency by proactively sharing design choices with appropriate audiences, with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness

·  Demonstrates skilled understanding of functional and nonfunctional requirements and their priority within the backlog

Technical Expertise:

·  Expert in wireframing, prototyping and communicating designs

·  Expert in ability to create assets such as icons, prototypes and mockups

·  Working knowledge of object-oriented programming

Business Acumen:

·  Strong oral and written communication skills

·  Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills

·  Drives compliance with products & processes to assure business compliance

·  Ability to measure and synergize trends, taking appropriate action relative to product value position and overall strategy

·  Ability to expertly interact at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses
