Role Summary/Purpose
The Data Scientist will be responsible for industrial data processing and analysis, which is the foundation of delivering new, commercially re-usable analytics solutions. You must have strong engineering & analytics backgrounds, with software application capabilities. You will leverage standard suite of analytics & algorithms. You will engage with data scientists, and/or key technical & subject matter experts across the business for knowledge capture into the solutions.
Essential Responsibilities
The Data Scientist will be responsible for industrial data processing and analysis, which is the foundation of delivering new, commercially re-usable analytics solutions. You must have strong engineering & analytics backgrounds, with software application capabilities. You will leverage the standard suite of analytics & algorithms. You will engage with data scientists, and/or key technical & subject matter experts across the business for knowledge capture into the solutions.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Gather and understand customer requirements through interview and convert them into technical documentation
• Perform data acquisition, data cleansing, feature extraction, data management, etc.
• Implement algorithms for prototype and work with professional service team in scalable solutions.
• Design, apply and continuous improve a structured process for efficiency and quality
• Provide supporting technical materials, education and in-person expertise during commercial cycles. Evangelize the portfolio capabilities by presenting to customers (internal and external) and user groups where applicable
• Drive repeatability in solution component architectures. Foster an environment that encourages innovation, creative risk taking, speed and agility designing
Desired Characteristics
• Master’s degree in Science, Tehcnology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields from an accredited university or college
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience
• Demonstrated strong ability on data processing, data analysis and computer programming with typical languages such as Python, R, Matlab, etc.
• Awareness of the development and application of analytics models based on physics, empirical, and/or data.
Technical Expertise:
• Demonstrated ability to work within a small, collaborative project team
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Aptitude for the use of complex software applications, abstract concepts, use of data
• Understanding of industrial equipment and process operations, especially in the areas of maintenance and process control
• Experience designing Machine Learning algorithms or heuristics
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
• Experience in industrial domain, such as equipment monitoring, asset performance management, digital twin etc.
• Strong Customer mindset and ability to understand commercial and product strategy
• Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills - effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve
• Emotional Intelligence, highly organized and efficient, able to balance competing priorities and execute accordingly
