Role Summary/Purpose

The Intern role will define, implement the sourcing strategy for a group of commodities for GE Wind Offshore and to fulfill customer requests for the same items.
Essential Responsibilities

• Deploy, Optimize, and communicate a competitive Sourcing commodity strategy
• Report KPI’s and global strategy guidelines to the Sourcing / Procurement Leader
• Monitor & Improve Suppliers & Sourcing operation performances
• Asses supplier performances and develop the supplier database / panel to adapt to the business growth
• Develop and lead cost out ideas on each of his/ her commodities
• Support to define/match to the global sourcing strategy
• Negotiate T&Cs with suppliers and other specific clauses
• Prepare forecast & backlog for her/his commodity
• Support development of best assumptions in tendering and product activities
• Support commodity co-design, standardization and rationalization actions
• Support discussions with suppliers during execution in case of claims and PO changes
• Develop a strong relationship with Manufacturing, Engineering and Product Line teams to meet key business target around inventory, cost, cash, supplier quality, NPI and fulfillment
• Mitigate fulfilment risks by reducing/eliminating sole/single source vendors
• Drive emerging market growth strategy
• Collaborate with Materials team to drive standardization and continuous improvement of purchasing processes and cycle time reduction through consignment, VMI and Kanban strategies
• Manage material procurement included on his/her commodity and deal with the Purchasing process (check Purchase requisition list, place POs on time, manage PO acknowledgement, set up Operation rhythm with suppliers to monitor On time delivery, manage all exception messages through MOS, manage Non Conformities and make sure that suppliers are paid on time)
• Manage missing materials (get the best cycle times from suppliers, manage critical path items and report their status to business leaders and the planning team, manage VBB, communicate drawing changes to suppliers and update POs accordingly)
• Manage supplier Non-Conformities (communicate delivery status of NCs to the quality team, communicate with supplier / SQEs to fix supplier material issues et monitor closely the delivery)
• Manage ERP set up (IR, lot, safety stock, Reorder point, PD, ND…)
• Manage continuous improvement projects and ERP transition / use enhancement
