Role Summary/Purpose

·  The Scientist will be responsible for laboratory-based development, qualification, and implementation of quantitative, semi-quantitative, and qualitative methods in support of the Company’s portfolio of products for bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing. This role will also support new product development, product care, and manufacturing initiatives with analytical characterization.
Essential Responsibilities

·  With minimal supervision, develop analytical procedures for characterization of technologies in the bio-process portfolio. 
·  Perform method qualification, validation, and sample analysis. 
·  Contribute to preparation of standard operating procedures for analytical assays and instrumentation. 

·  With minimal supervision, prepare qualification and validation protocols and reports for analytical procedures and instrumentation. 
·  Transfer analytical procedures to support manufacturing.  
·  Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation.
·  Participate in cross-functional teams on new product development and product care problem-solving efforts. 
·  Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible.

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry or related field. 
·  5+ years’ work experience in an analytical laboratory or R&D environment. 
·  Extensive hands-on experience with HPLC and/or GPC. 
·  Hands-on experience with AFM, SEM, and Porometry. 
·  Experience performing routine sample analysis, method qualification, and validation. 
·  Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Characteristics

·  Hands-on
experience operating and troubleshooting a variety of chromatographic
instruments, including but limited to; Waters Alliance, Agilent’s 1260
Infinity and GEHC AKTA Crossflow.
·  Familiarity with
both bioprocess upstream and downstream processes.
·  Familiarity with FTIR, Raman, particle
analysis.
·  Clear understanding of QC methodology
requirements.
·  Awareness of GMP, GLP and
governmental regulations related to drug manufacturing.
·  Able to communicate effectively in
group settings.
·  Able to multitask on various assigned
tasks.
·  Comfortable with statistical
methodologies
·  Able to work independently or in a
team environment.
