Role Summary/Purpose
The Power Generation Enterprise (GE Power Gas, Steam and Power Services), with operations covering Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering and global Services, launched a multi-generation business transformation program (branded PowerMax) to integrate, standardize and re-engineer the key processes on a single core SAP platform.
In that context, the Staff Technical Product Manager will integrate the SAP Center of Excellence (CoE), reporting to the Sourcing & Logistics Design leader.
Essential Responsibilities
The Staff Technical Product Manager within the SAP CoE has two main activities:
· Story owner – for a given capability release, the Staff Technical Product Manager will be part of a scrum team responsible for the proper delivery of one or several user stories (i.e. change request), the Staff Technical Product Manager being particularly in charge of the functional design, the SAP configuration and the whole testing (identifying, documenting and executing test cases and test scenarios).
· Mentor – the Staff Technical Product Manager will liaise with the deployment project team (e.g. solution specialists, key users) to act as a point of contact for the whole Sourcing & Logistics area, in particular focusing on:
· Managing the Organizational Structure & Basic Settings configuration provided by the project team
· Liaising with the product owners for all approved solution gaps identified with the project team.
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (Master preferred).
· Significant work experience within Sourcing/Logistics operations along with a SAP deployment role (e.g. key-user) or within IT as Business Analyst/Functional Consultant for SAP MM/WM – this job requires to be hands-on in SAP, both to configure and to use/test the system.
· Ability and willingness to travel worldwide on short notice (20 to 40%).
· Ability and willingness to work in/with distributed teams within complex and changing organizations.
· Fluent English – any additional language is welcome – to lead large meetings/conference-calls, lead and moderate large solution workshops, write detailed design documentation, write training & handover documentation, etc.
Desired Characteristics
· Ability to bridge communication between technical (e.g. developers, configuration, basis) and business (e.g. buyers, warehouser, clerks) people, coupled with strong analytical skills, to address & solution complex business or technical problems/processes.
· Ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize under pressure.
· Self-organizational skills to be able to work and progress on multiple tasks/projects in parallel.
· Open mind to evolving priorities and fluid responsibilities. #DTR
