Role Summary/Purpose
In this strategic role, the Field Application Engineer, Ultrasound, is responsible for working directly with the NA ultrasound sales team to support commercial activities including product demos, applications services, and conducting product & applications training. Product lines include Phased Array Flaw Detection, scanners, standard portable flaw detector, thickness gauges and probes. Position requires strong domain knowledge in Conventional and Phased Array Ultrasonic solutions.
Essential Responsibilities
· Support NA commercial sales team in revenue generation activities for conventional and Phased Array product lines
· Cooperation with all other global ultrasound sites
· Collaborate with peers in development of customized application solutions
· Presentation of Ultrasound solutions in house and at customer site
· Conduct customer applications training onsite or in house
· Be a domain expert on GE Inspection Technologies Ultrasound products / software / training / services and applications
· Identify and engage with industry regulatory bodies on regional requirements. Lead lobbying initiatives towards technology adoption
· Develop training program, train Channel and Sales in the product differentiation and target segment / applications
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (OR Associate’s Degree from accredited college or university with a minimum 5 years of experience in industrial ultrasound, sales, business development, commercial, technical product demo and/or customer sales support) (OR High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution with a minimum 7 years of experience in industrial ultrasound, sales, business development, commercial, technical product demo and/or customer sales support)
· Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial ultrasound, sales, business development, commercial, technical product demo and/or customer sales support
Eligibility Requirements:
· Travel up to ~75% of the time, as required
Desired Characteristics
· Expertise in Conventional and Phased Array Solutions
· Domain experience in Power, Nuclear, Aerospace, Oil & Gas and/or Manufacturing
· Previous experience in a customer supporting role
· Ability to work in matrix organization and cross functional team
· Proven ability to develop and maintain technical and commercial relationships
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Team player, being proactive, autonomous and creative
· Fluency in foreign languages are welcome
