Role Summary/Purpose

MR 3T Mechanical Engineering is responsible for developing and designing hardware components for the state-of-the-art MR systems for leading medical diagnostic imaging applications. The MCAD designer will work with Engineers to development and maintain hardware solutions for the system, subsystems, and components of an MR system.
Essential Responsibilities

Duties include (but are not limited to):
1. Prepare using 2D and 3D CAD software, mechanical drawings, detailed drawings, and parts and assembly models
2. Provide insight and feedback on designs, as well as generate the 2D working drawings and technical documentation required for communication of designs to suppliers and fabricators
3. Revise and alter detailed and layout drawings to conform to engineering changes
4. Perform design visualization efforts with 3D CAD models and essential component and assembly details to explore multiple design options
5. Work with engineers to develop engineering designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability
6. Part release creation, routing and approvals in Creo and MyWorkshop
7. Procure, create and upload required supporting documentation
8. Prepare/supply status updates of current workload as required to ensure continuation of work along with alignment to upcoming projects
Qualifications/Requirements

1. Associate’s Degree in Electronics, a technical degree from a recognized CAD training facility, or minimum of 2 years of design or drafting experience while possessing a high school degree/equivalent
2. Applied mechanical design experience with 3D modeling software
3. Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional project team
4. 2 years of designer experience in applied product development in mechanical engineering

1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines.
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.
Desired Characteristics

1. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
2. 2-3 years experience working with ProEngineering/Creo for mechanical design
3. Experience with designs applied in a strong magnetic field environment
4. Experience with electronics packaging, system cabinet designs, and cable design and management
5. Understanding of commercial standards as applied to medical products
6. Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
7. Excellent teamwork and communication skills
8. Knowledge of UL/ETL/IEC standards and how they apply to designs
9. Working knowledge of GEHC tools and processes
