Role Summary/Purpose

Plan and execute continuous improvement activities, technical support, and project support for existing manufacturing lines. Design and implementation of new processes in support of new product lines. Support efforts to continuously improve processes and product quality. This role is recognized as a key manufacturing technology leader within the organization.
Essential Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

·  Work with teams to identify root cause and resolve manufacturing and quality problems related
to methods, processes, tooling, equipment and product design

·  Clearly understand existing processes in order to provide support for maintenance, operations
and customers

·  Ensure regulatory compliance through Qualification & Validation activities. Responsible for
ensuring rigor in determining process Qualification, development of plans and analysis criteria,
execution and final analysis and acceptance

·  Utilize continuous improvement with Lean as the primary foundation of day to day activities

·  Use analytical and logical approach to determine root cause of process abnormalities

·  Drive improved product quality by identifying manufacturing issues, developing advanced
manufacturing cost-effective solutions, and overseeing successful implementation into production

·  Project Management - Completes projects on time and budget. Coordinates projects and leads
project teams

·  Monitor and improve productivity through the use of continuous improvement, Lean Six Sigma
or related tools, while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality and costconscious
manner

·  Help execute continuous improvement of QMS methods and their applications by working with
cross- functional team including Operations and Quality Assurance.

·  Work with the facilities and maintenance teams to implement changes within the PM and
Metrology processes

·  Analyze production lines and ensure the required product capacity is in place before it is
required by customer demand

·  Apply principles of logical scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical
problems.

·  Ability to write technical reports and present technical information

·  Interface with Design and Automation Engineers to design safe, lean, repeatable processes
Qualifications/Requirements

·  B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical degree, OR an Associates Degree and 3 years experience in production, engineering or troubleshooting of PC/server based systems, or High School diploma with 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering. 
·  Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills 
·  Ability to work independently and within teams 
·  Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Desired Characteristics

·  Experience in Manufacturing Engineering

·  Experience with Kaizen, 3P and Lean Production

·  PDCA, 5S, A3 Thinking knowledge and skillset

·  An understanding of biomanufacturing processes and single-use technologies

·  Solid working knowledge of cGMP

·  Experience writing and executing qualification protocols and reports

·  Experience developing tools and templates

·  Demonstrated program or project management skills

·  Demonstrated experience owning production processes

·  Experience working with global teams

·  Lean 6-sigma Black Belt certified

·  Knowledge of PLC automation, robotic control and network systems
