Role Summary/Purpose

Manage the buying process for a given set of goods. Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. Positions requiring understanding of a concepts, methods and procedures to enable sourcing execution.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Import POs issuance in SAP 
·  Utilize a Web based transportation management system (MTA) to facilitate logistics solutions for material inbound to Warehouse and outbound to project sites. Complete data input according to process. 
·  Knowledge of routine activities related to the customs compliance function in an effort to ensure with foreign trade requirements and operating policies. 
·  Assess commodity and equipment configurations needed to freight transport, recognize and alert transportation supplier’s when freight requires additional special handling requirement 
·  Review transportation supplier’s logistics plan include transportation modal, route, permits, equipment type for safety, quality and efficient freight delivery 
·  Collaborate with Buyer’s and Factory Planners for advanced shipment planning, business priorities, shipment statuses, and problem resolution 
·  Collaborate with Project Management Team for project fulfillment. Provide awareness of potential fulfillment risk, EHS risks, cargo receiving challenges and general support needed 
·  Collaborate with Sourcing colleagues to ensure ample suppliers are available to meet logistics execution objectives. Provide forecasts for advance procurement of logistics services 
·  Identify and analyze cost savings solutions through the implementation of load optimization strategies at an operational level.  
·  Lead efforts to avoid detention/demurrage costs 
·  Audit shipment information to ensure key criteria are met, coordinate the storage of freight in detention warehouses, supply status reports to both internal and external parties, and provide tracking from the pickup through the delivery.  
·  Ensure timely submission of customs document to facilitate fast and accurate deliveries 
·  Develop and maintain relationships with established strategic carriers to work daily for shipment bookings/tracking, change management/problem resolution, and to drive accountability  
·  Track performance of transportation suppliers for scorecards, continuous improvement, and future business opportunities according to on-time pickup/delivery, quality, and communication 
·  Participate in various meetings to provide shipment status, delay issues, and to perform problem resolution to ensure fulfillment is achieved  
·  Complete various reports for individual performance, shipment performance and general data 
·  Pursue logistics functional excellence in all areas.
Qualifications/Requirements

·  3+ years logistics experience; 
·  Import process knowledge to include general customs knowledge 
·  Proficiency in MS Office to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook 
·  Capability to learn new software quickly and optimize technology capability 
·  Ability to multitask in a demanding work environment 
·  Excellent written and verbal communication 
·  Excellent attention to detail 
·  Excellent planning, organizing and follow-up skills 
·  Bachelors Degree (in Logistics/International Trade/Business preferred). 
·  Ability to work extended hours (if needed) and meet Monday-Friday first shift schedule 
·  Fluent English (written, reading, speaking) 
·  Basic Spanish 
·  Continuous improvement focus and process change experience 
·  Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
