Role Summary/Purpose
The LS US Assistant Controller will support the LS US Controller in providing technical and operational controllership guidance and support to the U.S. based Life Sciences commercial operations, sales, finance, compliance and legal teams to ensure compliance with accounting rules, regulations and procedures. This role reports to the GEHC LS US Controller and will also have a strong relationship with the GEHC US Controllership Team and Life Sciences Global Product Controllership team.
Essential Responsibilities
· Support the GEHC LS US Controller in providing Controllership
support to the LS Finance Managers (BioProcess, Core Imaging, G&CR, CT, and Service), Commercial and Operations leaders and their teams to ensure that the
Controllership and Financial Accounting implications of transactions and other
matters are identified and managed effectively.
· Provide oversight for the Life Sciences U.S. balance sheet.
Establish and own review processes to monitor the LS US balance sheet and
identify/resolve any concerns arising. Support reviews of the LS Global Balance
Sheet explaining significant movements and anomalies.
· Applying Controllership input and ensuring appropriate rigor for
simplification and systems projects in the businesses.
· Support the integration of US based acquisitions and other
Business Development transactions
· Support the development standard operating procedures and
effective policies in relevant areas, including monthly and quarterly close
processes
· Monitor & drive applicable GE and GEHC corporate
initiatives, simplification projects and integration projects. Provide
leadership on these projects
· Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404
requirements
· Provide support for CAS and KPMG audits as required
· Provide business training to ensure compliance with applicable
global and regional policies
· Research and resolve complex commercial finance and accounting
issues
· Perform ad hoc special projects.
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business related field and 5 years progressive accounting or finance experience;
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner

· Minimum 2 years at Big Four/Large Regional audit experience including Audit and SOX/Internal Controls.
· Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive Change
· Experience leading in a global business environment; minimum two years of experience leading team members
· Experience with GEHC Product related commercial activities
· Sound understanding of global process and transactional Flows
· Clear thinking/problem solving: successfully led projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas
