Role Summary/Purpose
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Support Lawyer to join the GE Renewable Energy Litigation Team. The successful applicant will report directly to the Global Chief Litigation Counsel. This position will be based in London, England supporting the Renewable Energy business in different jurisdictions globally.
Essential Responsibilities
The Legal Support Lawyer will have the following responsibilities:
• Support counsel in the day-to-day management of GE Renewable Energy’s litigation portfolio including document management, retention and disclosure processes; witness and expert witness management and interviewing; internal reporting including litigation review processes; responding to subpoenas; etc.
• Support counsel in the management of GE Renewable Energy’s legal spend including management and negotiations of fee arrangements with outside counsel and other consultant; managing on-line payment systems; exploring ways to reduce legal spend (new technologies, outsourcing to more cost efficient providers; etc.).
• Support, manage and/or lead various projects, tools and initiatives aimed at improving the efficient management and resolution of disputes.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Completed LPC or equivalent qualification
• Prior experience as a Legal Support Lawyer
• Sound level of computer literacy (including Word and Excel)
Hard working and enthusiastic team player
• Willingness to learn and high level of initiative
• Excellent writing skills with a keen eye for detail
• Strong research and organisational skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise
• Excellent communication, professionalism and interpersonal skills
• Capability to work within a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Pro-active approach and ability to demonstrate initiative
• Fluent in English
