Role Summary/Purpose

The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing new manufacturing processes and process improvements associated with our growing machining, welding and rebuild environment in Erlanger, KY. The Manufacturing Engineer will leverage an engineering background to own key steps in preparing our facility for a new product line being transferred to the Erlanger, KY site.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Lead Manufacturing Engineer you will:

·  Support the production operations, quality of components being manufactured, the material requirements, the order process as well as being involved in operator training
·  Be equipped with key hands-on technical exposure as well as cross-functional expertise to prepare you for a range of fantastic growth opportunities within the company
·  Develop and execute plans to qualify internal manufacturing operations and/or external suppliers to meet new product introduction fulfillment & quality requirements
·  Provide direct technical support to the production team for a range of processes to include fabrication and machining of multiple components
·  Be responsible for developing manufacturing instructions and processes to improve safety, quality, cost, cycle and productivity
·  Responsible for full project plan to include estimate production cycle times, date of component completion, first runs, quality issues and material availability in a tollgate format
·  Facilitate reduction in product cost and maintain budget for local project including machine improvements, additional direct labor, etc.
·  Provide technical support to shop and aid in improving the coordination and collaboration between departments and teams
·  Specify and lead the procure process for new equipment, tooling, and technology needed to meet production and quality requirements
·  Drive continuous improvement and change across two (2) shifts, team with HR and Service Center Manager on labor plans and site communication
·  Drive process improvements focused on standardizing operating procedures in the mechanical assembly cell
·  Develop standardized quoting process for new equipment, tooling, and technology needed to meet production and quality requirements
·  Develop the following in support of the site:  standardized quoting process, standardized job routings, standardized process for creating job packets, standardize inspection reporting process, and standardize operating procedures for the mechanical assembly cell
·  Liaise with existing engineering team to qualify new products and design changes to any existing products
·  Develop good working relationship with the field service team to provide timely support and components for customer sites
·  Embark on travel as required in support of the transfer of the product line from another location to the Erlanger, KY site
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university / college or graduated from manufacturing leadership program
·  Minimum of 2 years working in a production environment, with exposure to heavy equipment, quality and operations systems

·  Knowledge of CNC, manual machining and fabrication (welding)

·  Effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines while providing solid, concise communications to all customers for all projects in process in Erlanger, KY.
·  High attention to detail and accuracy
