Role Summary/Purpose

Lead Test Engineer will be responsible for validating the Industrial Automation control system including PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), IO and industrial communication modules -IEC61850, IEC104 etc. Highly motivated individual working independently across functional teams in driving the system test and Automation efforts.
Essential Responsibilities

As a Lead Test Engineer, you will use your automation control system domain knowledge in validating our next generation Automation Controller product lines.
- Work in small, self-motivated teams collaborating with Product Owner to translate customer needs into Internet-enabled products and infrastructure
- Be involved in all phases of system test development from product definition to production release
- Develop Test Strategy and derive Test Requirements from Product & System specifications
- Develop Test Automation using Python scripts, batch file, C#/DoTNet Applications
- Design optimal Test Systems and Automated Test Fixtures for ensuring adequate Test coverage
- Use Agile software development practices to build and test products using Continuous Integration in a continuous delivery mode- Iterative development process.
- Break down problems and estimate time for development tasks, story points etc.
- Use your strong knowledge in PLC Ladder logic, Ethernet based Industrial protocols -IEC61850, DNP3, IEC104 etc., Automation scripts in developing system level tests.
- Make technical presentations to peers and managers on the details of architecture, design, Technical risks etc.
- Use excellent communication skills to interface with Technical architects on complex technical issues
Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university, Minimum of 7 years of experience with strong domain knowledge in Industrial automation and related products like Programmable controllers -PLCs, I/O modules, Industrial Communication protocols like IEC61850 Client and Server, IEC104 Client/Server, DNP3 Master/Slave, HMI/SCADA etc. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with PLC systems Commissioning, Ladder logic implementation. Experience in Test automation - programming skills using scripting languages like python etc.
Desired Characteristics

Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering
- Experience with GE’s Programmable Logic Controllers-PLCs, Ladder logic programming for GE PLCs
- Demonstrated experience with Test Fixture development and associated tools for IEDs and know-how on substation and associated terminology.
- Knowledge of at least one Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery Software (Jenkins, Bamboo, Cruise Control, Electric Commander etc.)
- Knowledge of Industrial Ethernet based network and topologies.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver on innovative ideas for products and processes
- Basic experience with programming language like C#, C++ used for Test Automation purpose
