Role Summary/Purpose
As a Frac Support Technician you will participate in the installation/removal, maintenance, repair and lubrication of Pressure Control Fracturing equipment. In this role you will perform assignments as directed by the Service Manager and Branch Manager, plus other assignments as required. You will work effectively with other groups: HSE, Sales, Maintenance, other Personnel and Management.
Essential Responsibilities
In the role of Frac Support Technician, you will:
· Under the direction of the Service Manager and Branch Manager, perform a number of tasks associated with the operation, rig-up / down of equipment & tools and related equipment in the shop, yard and primarily, customer locations
· Perform duties during a 12 hour shift which may involve some technical elements but primarily focused on running equipment / machinery / systems
· Be fit and available for duty 24/7 for emergency call out during your scheduled hitch
· Communicate professionally with customers, vendors and other contractors
· Be familiar with Frac trees and zipper manifolds, mobile grease units and associated equipment used during operations
Qualifications/Requirements
· High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
· Minimum 1 year of Oil & Gas, Mining, Electrical and/or Mechanical experience
Eligibility Requirements:
· Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a DOT Medical Exam
· To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a GE owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must have a good driving record for past 24 months
· Work on-call, overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
· Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
· Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
· Be subjected to extreme heat or cold for extended periods of time
· Undergo Periodic Fit for Duty tests, examinations, and/or certifications that will be required for onshore location assignments
· Ability to safely deploy to remote geographic assignment locations with limited access to medical care, which may require 4 hours (or more) travel time to reach secondary level medical care
Desired Characteristics
· Minimum 1 year of Field Service, wellhead and gate valve experience in Oil and Gas
· NCCCO Certification and Class A CDL
· Experience with Frac valve maintenance and operation
· Working knowledge of Mechanical, Electronic, and/or Hydraulic Equipment
· Documentation and Record Keeping ability
· Working knowledge of hand and power tools
· Knowledge of Customer Service Best Practices
· Basic Computer Skills
· Intermediate Mathematical Skills
· Intermediate Reasoning skills
