Role Summary/Purpose

The Fixed Asset Controller will be responsible for the Controllership oversight, execution and process improvement of GEHC Fixed Asset accounting. This entails adding value to the business by driving cost savings through increased accountability and visibility.
Essential Responsibilities

• Partner with the PPE COE team in China, by maintaining regular op mechs and driving consistent and effective policies and procedures
• Support and partner with local Operational and Finance teams across GEHC by creating regular operating mechanisms to support ongoing fixed asset projects, ensure accurate accounting and provide timely relevant financial information to leadership
• Support monitor & drive GE and GEHC corporate Fixed Asset initiatives, simplification and integration projects. Provide leadership on these projects and ensure clear coordination and communication between COE teams and local finance and operational teams
• Ensure processes in place to complete PPE Physical Inventory and Asset Tagging
• Support monthly and quarterly Op Mechs with local finance and operational teams to drive strong, proactive Controllership and value added analysis in Fixed Assets & Assets Under Construction
• Manage the process to identify early fixed asset impairment triggers, by building productive relationships and liaising closely with the COE and local Finance and Operational Managers
• Lead a bi-annual review of Assets under Construction to identify risks and report findings to Global Supply Chain Controller
• Consolidate quarterly balance sheet reviews of fixed assets for Global and Regional Leaders.
• Support commercial and operations leaders/teams to understand financial/accounting implications of transactions and other matters related to Fixed Assets
• Manage process to understand and explain large balance sheet movements in Fixed Assets
• Report Fixed Asset balance sheet analysis and key metrics to the Supply Chain, Regional and Global Controllers
• Ensure fixed asset adjustments related to restructuring projects are booked and communicated appropriately
• Support CAS & KPMG USGAAP and Local Statutory audits
• Collaborate with supply chain teams across other processes to identify efficiencies, share and learn best practices. Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives in Supply Chain
• Support Lease Accounting process as required
Qualifications/Requirements

1. Bachelors degree and 5 years progressive accounting or finance experience.
2. Demonstrated proficiency in U.S. GAAP and authoritative accounting literature (i.e. FASB pronouncements)
3. Excellent systems skills: Excel, hyperion and good understanding of standard ERP’s Oracle and SAP
4. Demonstrated strength in analytic skills: able to clearly link financial and operational data to generate positive change and technical skills in manipulating large data sets.
5. Clear thinking/problem solving: successfully led projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas.
6. Experience working in a multi-location business environment.
7. Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations.
8. Works collaboratively, respects individuals and cultures. Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others.

1. Externally focused and able to connect effectively with a broad group of stakeholders. Experience working in a matrixed environment.
2. Qualified ACA/CPA, ACCA or GE Corporate Audit Staff.

4. Sound understanding of global process and transactional flows. Able to generate innovative ideas and make them happen.
