Role Summary/Purpose

This is a position in the Facilities Services organization with responsibility for ensuring that the facilities infrastructure and building operations equipment continue to operate in a safe and effective manner while moving towards the goal of “no unplanned downtime” of the Bently Nevada / Operating System (OS) Headquarters facility.
Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Facilities Technician, you will:

·  Maintain / trouble-shoot and solve technical issues and opportunities pertaining facilities operations

·  Monitor the condition of the building’s utility systems and the general operation of facilities equipment

·  Assist senior technicians with their projects and day-to-day responsibilities

·  Perform general labor throughout the facility

·  Perform preventive maintenance tasks

·  Recommend spare parts to keep on-hand, that if not available could potentially impact our customers’ ability in meeting their commitments

·  Participate in any aspect / component of facilities maintenance

·  Assist in the monitoring of services provided by outside contractors ensuring Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies are followed
Qualifications/Requirements

·  High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution

·  Minimum 3 years of experience in facilities services, building operations or maintenance technician

Eligibility Requirements:

·  Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required

·  Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities

·  Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required

·  Lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs.

·  Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
Desired Characteristics

·  General knowledge of power and hand tools

·  NFP70E knowledge

·  Able to organize daily schedule while remaining flexible and handle multiple tasks and priorities

·  Basic Computer skills

·  Associate's degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university

·  Experience in one of the building trades, i.e., Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, etc.

·  Knowledge of multiple aspects of facilities such as boilers, chillers, refrigeration equipment, electrical motors, pumps, plumbing, electrical switchgear, generators and operation of natural and propane gas systems

·  Building maintenance or construction background

·  Possess knowledge of building codes such as the NEC, UBC, NFC, and UPC

·  Able to organize daily schedule while remaining flexible and handle multiple tasks and priorities

·  Effective Team contributor and member with a positive attitude

·  Self-motivated and willing to learn other trades / skills

·  Have a flexible schedule and be willing to train for “On-call Technician” program

·  Willing to work as an apprentice technician to senior tradesman (Millwright)

·  Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

·  Customer orientated mindset

·  Proactive work ethics, creativity, energy

·  Effective Team contributor and member with a positive attitude

·  Self-motivated and willing to learn other trades / skills
