Role Summary/Purpose

The Lead Engineer - Embedded SW Development role will have responsibility for designing, developing and testing embedded software in support of electrical power systems in accordance with aviation guidelines. It requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant technologies.
Essential Responsibilities

The embedded software development engineer will work as part of a team that creates / updates artifacts associated with the complete software development life cycle in accordance with aviation guidelines. The Lead software engineer will provide direction and assistance to the work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role, you will work make decisions, apply concepts to issues, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

In addition, you will:

·  Develop embedded software utilizing the C programming language
·  Be responsible for understanding the full software development life cycle from requirements development to verification
·  Generate complete software development life cycle artifacts for embedded software in support of electrical power systems in accordance with aviation guidelines
·  Execute the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems
·  Lead analytical and design activities
·  Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
·  Document and communicate results of technical data generated
·  Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
·  Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Engineering)
·  A minimum of 3 years of experience in Embedded Software Development ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

·  Familiarity with ARINC 429, ARINC 629, RS-485, MIL-STD 1553 and CAN protocols
·  Familiarity with Extended Memory Interface (EMIF) and Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) hardware interfaces
·  Worked with the Texas Instruments TMS320F28000 series of microcontrollers
·  Familiarity with the SHARC series of microcontrollers
·  Ability to debug embedded software utilizing oscilloscope and logic analyzers
