Role Summary/Purpose

The Materials Application Engineer for composites (PMC and Ox-Ox) will support commercial and military hardware by providing material solutions to design and supply chain. The role will develop advanced composite materials for new applications and replacement of older systems. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to solve complex problems, develop and execute objectives, and effect business goals. The job will require program management, data analysis and final documentation.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Utilize expertise to research, develop, and support PMC and Ox-Ox materials systems which meet objectives for performance, cost, and schedule

·  Serve as materials engineering focal for assigned hardware to design and supply chain

·  Utilize knowledge of polymeric and oxox composite processes to ensure efficient manufacturing, including close partnership with composites lean lab

·  Develop digital capabilities to solve technical problems and participate in composite digital initiatives

·  Share key findings with other team members and document lessons learned

·  Leverage expertise to resolve problems in the field or during manufacturing processes

·  Document technical data generated by the assigned project

·  Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments

·  Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science or related Engineering field from an accredited college or university

·  Minimum of 2 years of experience in a materials science engineering position

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

·  Ability to obtain and maintain clearance for classified military programs

Desired Characteristics

·  Experience in composite materials application, development, failure analysis, or materials behavior

·  Materials engineering experience working in an aerospace environment

·  Strong oral and written communication skills

·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
