Role Summary/Purpose
Develops and validates reciprocating engine control algorithms & software for large gas engines
used for power generation & gas compression applications
Essential Responsibilities
• Work in a global team of electrical, controls and software engineers on developing and validating state of the art
control systems for reciprocating gas engines to achieve challenging requirements on
performance, reliability and emissions.
• Support unit testing and model-in- the-Loop verification & validation of new engine control
releases
• Provide timely communications to technical and line management on significant issues, impacts,
or developments which effect schedule, costs, scope of work, or resources
• Prepare and execute project reviews
Qualifications/Requirements
• Advanced technical education in electrical-/mechanical-engineering or computer sciences
(technical university – preferably Masters) – focus on control systems.
• 2+ years’ industrial experience with reciprocating engine control system development focusing
on verification and validation, engine modeling and simulation
• Skilled in SW development and validation for embedded control systems (Matlab/Simulink,
C/C++, AutoCoding, MAAB guidelines). Candidate should be very proficient with Matlab, Simulink
& Stateflow.
• Awareness of state-of-the-art control software verification and validation processes and tools
• Very good analytical skills
• Responsible and team oriented style of work
• Excellent English language communication skills (spoken & written) for technical communication
& communication with stake-holders, colleagues & leadership.
• Willingness and ability to work seamlessly with globally distributed teams on common goals
• Willingness to travel to global GE centers and customer sites as and when required
Desired Characteristics
• Good background in control theory including advanced control methodologies
• Background in Internal Combustion Engines with respect to engine performance, combustion,
emissions, and control
