Role Summary/Purpose

The CMM Technician will Operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) utilizing programs.

We presently have an opening for a 3rd Shift CMM Technician, working 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Essential Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

·  Operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)

·  Perform accurate and timely inspections of tooling and parts to determine conformance to drawing requirements, utilizing CMM, Optical / Vision, and various other precision measuring instruments

·  Manage CMM maintenance and calibration schedule to ensure equipment functions accurately and reliably, to minimize any potential impacts to schedule

·  Effectively communicate all inspection strategies, results, dimensional / visual non-conformances, and equipment issues as they arise

·  Perform Gage R&R Studies as necessary to validate CMM programs, part alignment strategies, and inspection fixtures, tools, and techniques

·  Create Work Instructions, Inspection Reports, and NC Reports to document inspection processes and results

·  Maintain inspection consumables inventory – Styli, Extensions, etc.

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Qualifications/Requirements

·  High School Diploma / GED

·  Minimum of 1 year of experience operating CMM, evaluating / validating CMM inspection results, and publishing / distributing inspection reports

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

·  Ability and willingness to work third shift


Desired Characteristics

·  Knowledge of machining methods / machine shop experience

·  Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate engineering drawing requirements – features of size, position, and form - Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

·  Proficient using Microsoft Office applications

·  Excellent written and oral communication skills

·  Ability to work effectively in a diverse teaming environment with minimal supervision
