Role Summary/Purpose

The CMC Manufacturing Manager – Machining has ownership & accountability of leading teams of process / manufacturing engineers responsible for overall equipment effectiveness & associated robust manufacturing process(es) of Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC’s) in machining process(es) for the Asheville CMC facility.
Essential Responsibilities

The CMC Manufacturing Engineering Manager – Machining will own all aspects of leading the machining PE/ME teams & process(es) within the functional area, including but not limited to people leader, equipment, tooling, process, qualifications, certifications, management of change, training, etc. and maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). This includes both existing production process(es) and equipment as well as New Product Introductions (NPI), from development transition planning to full scale / continued production, owning & accountable for driving all aspects of industrialization in the machining process area(s).

·  People leader for machine process & manufacturing / process engineers, including traditional machining processes as well as non-traditional machining, such as Laser & Electric Discharge Machining (EDM), etc.

·  Serve as focal point to/from all technical & business entities relating to machining process / manufacturing engineers, processes and/or equipment.
·  Responsible for continuous management & ownership of assigned scope, including management of change process, equipment needs, component transition & ramp, driving Root Cause / Corrective Action (RCCA) of non-conformance & deviation(s).

·  Accountable for driving special projects to ensure effective industrialization, lean, yield, cost, cycle & production improvements.

·  Responsible for machining growth & utilization strategy & vision to maximize production, maximize yield, minimize downtime, minimize process variation & maximize process capability for both existing products as well as NPI/new equipment.

·  Work boundlessly with all organizations, both hourly & non-exempt, including Cincinnati, Newark, Asheville, etc., in enabling effective parts / product industrialization and ramp in responsible area.

·  Work both autonomously as well as collaboratively in identifying needs, proactive support to manufacturing teams in enhancing production cost, cycle, yield. •
·  Articulate progression of projects and/or programs to all facets of the business, including technicians, process engineers, site leadership & executive business leaders, ensuring efforts support business goals & objectives.

·  Performs other duties as assigned/as needed to support 24x7 manufacturing processes.
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in engineering and/or related technical field from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 3 years progressive experience related to manufacturing engineering (OR an Associate’s Degree in engineering and/or related technical field from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years progressive experience related to manufacturing engineering)

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

·  Ability & willingness to support 24x7 manufacturing facility

·  Experience supporting and/or working in machining processing and/or manufacturing environment

·  Experience in managing and/or Influencing skills for teams / individuals either within and/or not within own reporting structure & delivering results

·  Strong mathematical, analytical, communication (written / oral) & presentation skills

·  Ability to differentiate & manage competing priorities

·  Proven history of sense of urgency in supporting production needs

·  CTT, EEDP, OMLP and/or other formal leadership development program graduate and/or extensive proven track record & experience in leading teams in a manufacturing environment

·  Ability to adapt to business needs & flexibility in changing priorities

·  Proven track record of effective training & mentoring of others

·  Strong acumen in executive level communications & engagement

·  Strong knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles, experience, passion & demonstrated track record of implementation

·  Experience working cohesively with Certifying Agents, Controlled Title Holders and/or Leadership teams

·  Proven track record of engaged / collaborative leadership delivering results

·  Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

·  Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects with established project management skills
