Role Summary/Purpose

Join a dynamic and highly motivated team focused on developing GE Automation & Controls leading edge industrial computer platforms. In this position you will be responsible for development and maintenance of BIOS/UEFI firmware for embedded computer platforms based on x86 architecture, and as such play a key role in the development of our products for demanding customers.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Design and implementation of platform firmware
(BIOS/UEFI) for x86 based computer products
·  Preparation of internal documents for development
and release
·  Preparation and maintenance of external documents
like manuals etc.
·  Continuous maintenance of existing firmware designs
·  Close co-operation with hardware team and system
test team
·  Work closely with other engineering teams, partners
and vendors to ensure inter-operability and reuse
·  Drive performance and reliability enhancements
·  Investigate and evaluate new technologies

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
or similar (Bachelor of Science/FH Degree, Master/University Degree)
·  Track record of successful accomplishment in BIOS/UEFI
development projects
·  Demonstrated experience in hardware related programming
(C, x86 assembler)
·  Good self-management skills and results-oriented
attitude
·  Team player with solid communication and
coordination skills

Desired Characteristics

·  Demonstrated experience in board-level debugging
·  Interest in and capability of hardware related
programming
·  Experience in reading and analyzing electrical
schematics
·  Good verbal and written English & German
communication skills
