Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) is recognized as a key manufacturing technology leader across GE Healthcare.

Essential Responsibilities

Description:

This particular role will drive the vision for mechanical process technologies and application practices while providing central leadership and planning for the introduction of processes for new product development and existing manufacturing. The AME Mechanical process engineer is responsible developing new manufacturing technologies, deploying these technologies and supporting our manufacturing engineering teams within GSC (Global Supply Chain) across the Europe region. This will be a great opportunity to work hands on with many process technologies in both Life Sciences and with the regional Health Care Systems businesses.

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

·  Work with and support various manufacturing technologies like Augmented Reality, CoBot automation, Additive Manufacturing and translate how these can be leveraged in production to drive productivity and product quality.

·  Support the training and roll out of this technology to our manufacturing sites and ensure committed return on investments are achieved.

·  Be a part of our New Product Introduction process to influence designs, drawings and process selection with focus on choosing the right Mfg Technology at the right cost point.

·  Support the effort to implement documentation standards for product drawing reviews to ensure manufacturability of designs and reduce supply chain risk

·  Stay connected with industry and university trends, helping GEHC stay current with new mfg technology innovation.

·  Support the MPTC (Manufacturing Process Technology Council) globally and expand/develop regional liaisons within the council.

·  Create training materials and provide training on mechanical process technologies. Take part in training deployment strategy for the MPTC.

·  Foster Synergies and collaborate with other Technical Councils within GEHC.

The scope of Mechanical Processes includes: Mechanical Assembly Techniques, inspection technology, Automation, Augmented Reality, Digital Torque, Tooling/Fixture design and CAD/CAM development.

Desired profile

Qualifications/Requirements

·  B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related technical degree

·  Years of experience in product and/or process design and development.

·  Experience with 3D CAD design

·  Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills.

·  Domain expertise in the mechanical process technologies.

·  Ability to work independently.

·  Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and verbal) to all levels of the organization.

·  Ability to identify and implement Best Practices.

·  Demonstrated program or project management skills.

·  Demonstrated experience owning production processes / growing capability in yield and quality.

·  Willing to travel domestic and internationally up to 25% of the time.

Desired Characteristics

Preferred Qualifications:

·  MS/PHD in technical concentration/field.

·  Long industrial experience in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.

·  6-sigma DMAIC & DFSS certified.

·  Experiences in Process Intensive manufacturing.

·  Solid working knowledge of GEHC QMS procedures for GMP.

·  Experienced developing tools and templates.

·  Experience working with global teams.
