Role Summary/Purpose

The ATO Sourcing Buyer is responsible for introducing future technologies and engine programs through the development design and build process. This organization has recently expanded our responsibilities to include: Tooling, Labor & Engineering and IT for military programs. The ATO Sourcing Buyer will support our team’s new expansion of scope to support procurement for out of production spares requirements and will include existing ATO scope of work.
Essential Responsibilities

The ATO Sourcing buyer will :

·  Apply sourcing policies and procedures across supply base

·  Interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications, delivery and test schedules

·  Work with customers to help meet budget targets

·  Have a deep understanding and can educate others concerning procurement policies and procedures

·  Strong knowledge and understanding of sourcing policies and procedures to achieve a compliant PO placement while achieving customer requirements

·  Negotiate terms, conditions and pricing to support the objectives of the business

·  Ability to review customer requirements and collaborate across the organization to determine suppliers that are most capable to perform the necessary work

·  Work closely with suppliers on amendments for Concurrent Product Development (CPD) in support of the customer’s requirements

·  Work customer requests for military services in Tooling, Engineering & Labor and IT

·  Work requests to support challenging procurements for low-volume out of production spares

·  Strategically develop suppliers who will be new to working production procurements

·  Manage strong relationships with suppliers in support of PO execution

·  Develop new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations

·  Balance both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects

·  Work together with high level people throughout the business at SPB and EB level

·  Actively participate in supplier performance reviews

·  Advise functional managers regarding projects, processes and procedures within their own field

·  Contribute to projects as a team member or leads small projects

Additionally, the ATO Sourcing may also:

·  Place and follow-up on POs

·  Manage problems and schedule changes

·  Update ERP

·  Specify needs, communicate about project approach and present outcomes of research done

·  Provide technical / commercial assistance to Commodity Buyers to develop awareness of manufacturing processes and improve product knowledge
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Sourcing)

·  Minimum of 3 years of materials, procurement, or sourcing experience
