Role Summary/Purpose

The Additive Engineering Technician will be responsible for the daily execution of assigned tasks and projects for the GE Additive business. In the role of Additive Engineering Technician, you will be self-directed working within defined parameters and work plans to meet day to day and short-term objectives of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Essential Responsibilities

In addition, the Additive Engineering Technician will:

·  Additive machine manufacturing / modification which includes assembly / modification of mechanical and electrical systems from drawing and schematics

·  Systematic trouble shooting of :
·  Machines
·  Subsystems
·  Facility
·  and Peripheral Equipment

·  Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks are consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Additionaly, as the Additive Engineering Technician, you will:

·  Conduct experiments and inspections on assigned processes, working with engineers and leadership to develop and document process improvements

·  Take ownership for assignment lab areas including:
·  Maintaining Equipment
·  Facility
·  Ordering Supplies
·  Environmental Health and Safety
·  and Shop Cleanliness

·  Share engineering information and promote open dialogue

·  Support preparation of invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business

·  Follow technical plans to meet desired manufacturing objectives

·  Adhere to a detailed schedule for a complex engineering and/or manufacturing development work scope

·  Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives

·  Perform periodic maintenance and safety inspections

·  Produce prototype and low-rate production hardware by working hands-on with the machines and performing periodic machine checks

·  Effectively use metrology tools such as:
·  Micrometers
·  Eye Loops
·  and Calipers
·  during inspection of hardware and material samples

Qualifications/Requirements

·  High school diploma / GED

·  Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering (OR an Associate's degree from an accredited school or institution in an engineering or manufacturing discipline may be substituted for experience)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

·  Ability and willingness to work overtime as required to meet needs of the business

Desired Characteristics

·  Manufacturing experience in a process engineering environment

·  Experience in one or more of the following process technologies:

·  Direct Metal laser melting (DMLM) equipment operation
·  General Machine Tool Operation
·  Mechanical Assembly experience
·  Electrical / PLC / Software Troubleshooting experience
