Job description

As a Java Software Engineer for the Gemalto, Cogent Federal Programs team located in Reston VA, you will develop and maintain quality based code using Java, C and C++ while you provide support of many large complex, multi-threaded (UNIX, LINUX and Windows) Biometric production systems. The Federal Programs projects will include development of customized interfaces (API's) and other O&M activities. You MUST be a US Citizen and able to obtain Public Trust Security Clearance to be consider for this position.

A week in the life of a Software Engineer:
· You will provide technical and development support as you trouble shoot and resolve production issue(s) with Federal systems
· You will develop software components using Java, C and C++ for new projects or enhance existing projects or systems.
· You will participate in technical meetings to communicate project status and issues.
· You will analyze and map requirements to existing and new software system solutions
· You will maintain and help to implement software and system engineering best practices
· You will create and maintain software deliverables, technical documents and specifications
· You will troubleshoot, isolate and fix production environments on UNIX, LINUX and Windows
· You will work directly with customers and provide technical assistance and support
· You will perform and support system level tests (Unit tests, UAT), including creating test tools and test plans
· You will be based in Reston, VA. This position may include up to 15% travel.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  To succeed at this job, you must have:
·  Bachelor's degree, Computer Science/Computer Engineering great attitude, work well with other team members.
·  2 years relevant work experience in a software or systems engineer role
·  Experience with C or C++ or C# or Java or VB.NET
·  Experience with relational databases (Oracle/MySQL/SQL Server)
·  US citizenship and able to obtain Public Trust security clearance, as needed.
·  It would be preferred if you have experience in biometric software development
·  Experience with Java (web-services) or C# & ASP.NET (web-services)
·  Experience with Oracle with strong knowledge of PL/SQL
·  Experience developing database triggers, stored-procedures, stored-functions
·  Experience leading other software engineers as a technical leader of a project
·  Experience with scripting languages – Bash, Perl, VBS, Batch, etc
·  Experience developing on different platforms – Windows Server 2008/IIS, Linux/Apache Tomcat
·  Experience in building/deploying networked software systems
·  Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and standards
·  You must be fluent in English

·  You must have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering. A US citizen and able to obtain Public Trust security clearance.
