Internship : Application of Convolution Neural Network to IDS

Security Consulting & Services (SCS) is the security research entity of Gemalto. More than 50 security experts provide their expertise in offensive and defensive security, to support internal team through various security services.

The Cloud &Connected Devices Security team (CCDS) provides security audit and evaluation, penetration testing, research and technologies watch. Our researches cover several domains including IT technologies, cryptography, cybersecurity, smartcard, IoT, software and hardware protections.

Security labs investigate security on infrastructure and develop its own applicative filtering technologies. Nowadays, there are many technics used to identify intrusion. Even if these technics are more or less working well, they needs lot of time to be fine-tuned. Some of them are suffering from lot of false positives that greatly reduces their efficiency. The objective of this internship is to use Deep Learning in order to identify the abnormal behavior and to detect more precisely an intrusion.

Several source of security events will be used (NIDS, HIDS, Antivirus, Application Logs, Firewall logs, WAF , … ) to characterize the intruder behavior and to detect an intrusion.

During the first part of this internship the trainee will explore these technologies to identify the most revelant. In a second part, depending of his/her findings, the trainee will integrate these technologies to existing Gemalto security product.

Profil recherché

Qualifications :

Final year student in Engineering (computer science, security)

Required Experience

- Strong background in computer security

- Basic knowledge in Linux System

- Basic knowledge in scripting (python/php/perl/shell)

- Basic knowledge in development (C, C++)

- Basic knowledge in networks

Preferred Experience

- Network security (Firewall, NIDS, WAF)

- Knowledges on web technologies

Languages : French or English
