Your position and environment?
Our Faurecia Clean Mobility Business Group – Engineering Performance Division is looking for you as a VIE material lab engineer m/f for our Tech Center in Shanghai, China.
The material engineer is responsible for the running a part of the material laboratory. He/she will be responsible for assessing which resource is needed to fulfill requestor’s demands, assigning tasks to technicians and himself/herself performing some of the testing. This laboratory activities concerns mainly failure analysis from internal and external customers, standard post-test analysis, material validation and some non-conventional tests. He/she will work closely with expert team, including durability and material experts in order to report laboratory tests conclusions. It is ex-pected that, he/she will help in the development of the laboratory improving technical knowledge but also efficiency and general quality of the testing by developing standard test methods.
Your main missions will be to
Operating conventional metallic material tests including chemical composition test,
micro-hardness test, metallography inspection, welding section analysis, SEM, Salt Spray test, etc.
Performing failure analysis on parts from different tests in order to detect root cause of failures.
Being responsible for the management of laboratory files and test samples including standardization with global laboratories.
Fixing equipment and maintaining them to guarantee right level of results.
Making sure all the test can be finished on time with the right level of quality.
The mission will last 12 months.
Who are you?
Speak/Write Chinese & English fluently. French or German is a plus.
Master of material science or above.
Have knowledge and experience of metallic materials. Stainless steel material knowledge is a plus.
Be able to operate material analysis instruments such as SEM, OES, hardness test etc. Experienced in sample preparation for these tests (grinding, polished, cleaning…)
At least 2 years work experience in material science field.
Team player with strong communication skills & international mind set
