For both, a good understanding of the rapidly changing (fiscal) legal and supervisory landscape is necessary (for example: FATCA, CRS, QI, and further developments assisting governments worldwide collecting tax in an increasingly mobile, global and digital world ).

 

At EY we are always on the lookout for professionals able to make a difference and willing to contribute to a more sustainable future. To strengthen our team, we are now looking for a Tax Intern with a focus on FATCA/CRS and Qualified Intermediary.

 

Position

Your primary focus will be on the domain of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and Qualified Intermediary (QI). Financial Institutions face more and more regulations and laws to which they need to measure up to, including FATCA and CRS. Partly due to recent events, such as the Panama- and Paradise Papers, it is vitally important to understand and comprehend (global) tax risks of their clients. Within the financial sector, EY is globally dominant in the area of advisory about FATCA and CRS and helps its clients to be compliant in this area within theoverallrisk framework.

 

In this role you will be able to gain expertise on this specific subject matter and will gain some insight in the advice about and the implementation of FATCA, CRS and QI in the overal risk framework. While doing so, you are able to get to know the business of EY and day to day guidance is offered by our professionals.

 

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assist in advising clients on tax issues related to financial institutions. Within our global network of advisors, you will work under the supervision of our professionals as well as in teams. Furthermore, you have access to our details knowledge systems and are able to combine the internship with the writing of your thesis.

Profile:

-         Student Master’s in Fiscal Law or Fiscal Economics;

-         Affinity with Financial Services and preferably relevant work experience in this sector;

-         Analytically strong, inventive and ambitious;

-         You have an excellent command of English and Dutch, both spoken and written.
