About Program Mercury
 

Program Mercury is a large, multi-year, enterprise-wide process transformation that will replace more than 1400 EY business systems and related processes with an integrated, SAP centric platform that will standardize and harmonize activities throughout the organization and significantly improve how EY manages its business. Program Mercury is a key enabler of EY’s Vision 2020, directly supporting the efforts of a number of transformation initiatives across the Firm by streamlining the application portfolio, reducing operating costs and providing  a platform to deliver services more efficiently. 

About the Mercury Support Team (MST)
 

As an organization jointly owned by the business and IT, the MST is a centralized and global organization which will provide operational support for the delivered Mercury solution and manage and support the Mercury user community. The MST will play an integral role in governance of the Mercury solution and the global template from both a business and IT perspective and will evolve to work closely with the business in enabling the benefit and value to be realized from the investment in Program Mercury and to set the furture direction and technology road map to support Vision 2020.

Job Summary:

The ABAP and performance specialist will play a key role in the support of the Mercury technical landscape and associated technology solutions which leverage or integrate with the core SAP applications, including SAP ECC, BW, CRM, SRM, CLM, CPM and GRC. This role is core ABAP special equirement with PO secondary skills. ABAP Specialist will work closely with Application Technology Lead and the process aligned Service Delivery Managers to provide specific, technical expertise regarding the integrated solution which is required to run each business process, including knowledge of the dependent and impacted applications and the associated inbound or outbound interfaces.

 

ABAP and PO specialist will assume operational responsibilities which will include both day-to-day support and management of the development QA and integration technical solution in the functional areas.  The ABAP specialist will assess the impact of changes to technical solution and will provide challenge and validation of estimates provided by 3rd parties and internal teams. They will work closely with the SAP Process Experts and the SAP AMS Support team to ensure that proposed solutions are 'supportable by design' and must consider the ongoing impact to support requirements and the ability to maintain system currency and integrity in line with agreed technical road maps.

Essential Functions of the Job:

·  Responsibility for the support of the core, integrated applications in the relevant area of the Mercury solution
·  Responsibility for the support and proactive monitoring of all interfaces and data feeds which send data to or from the core SAP applications
·  Researching complex application integration issues with functional teams; examine integration between various systems (SAP and non-SAP) for inconsistencies, review transformation logic and propose corrective alternatives
·  Utilizing knowledge of defined reference architectures, technology trends and implementation experience in order to translate business requirements into a solution blueprint that represents an end-to-end technical solution.
·  Input to the definition of the solution road map, integrating multiple disparate processes, and addressing short and long term organizational needs
·  Creation of detailed solution documentation and presentations
·  Leveraging standard processes and architecting innovative solutions for timely execution within the agreed time lines and the cost
·  Day-to-day maintenance of production application systems
·  Ensures that changes to SAP are delivered in line with the business standards in terms of development and testing
·  Ensures that changes to dependent applications are viable in SAP and do not cause a detrimental impact to production
·  Retains in-house technical knowledge to validate and where appropriate challenge technical solutions and the associated cost hen delivered by external vendors.
·  Solution design for integrating SAP products, identifying potential gaps and identifying possible solutions for bridging these gaps.
·  Performance tuning of the integrated solution
·  Make informed judgments and take appropriate action regarding issues which may potentially impact the quality of services delivered via the MST
·  Analyze requirements from the business and take appropriate steps to define action plans which are detailed, meaningful and set expectations appropriately with the business
·  Analyze service performance based on data provided and interpret the data to determine the quality of the service – validate this against the user perception of the service
·  Determine when it is appropriate to escalate and use judgement and experience and to determine the most effective course of action

 
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

·  Make informed judgments and take appropriate action regarding issues which may potentially impact the quality of services delivered via the MST
·  Analyze requirements from the business and take appropriate steps to define action plans which are detailed, meaningful and set expectations appropriately with the business
·  Analyze service performance based on data provided and interpret the data to determine the quality of the service – validate this against the user perception of the service
·  Determine when it is appropriate to escalate and use judgement and experience and to determine the most effective course of action

 
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

·  Experience with developing custom solutions and optimization of code in SAP ECC/CRM/SRM/BW- ABAP development, Web Dynpro
·  Hand on Experience in ABAP development debugging and performance optimization of complex programs.
·  Experience with SAP integration solutions and products - SAP PI/PO, Java
·  Good working experience in SAP PO and Production Support for PO interfaces
·  Experience with sFTP, SOAP and PROXY methodologies
·  Experience with SAP Business Framework Architecture, BAPIs, ALE, RFC, SOAP
·  Experience working with NetWeaver products
·  Experience in code review and played a SME role for all ABAP developments.
·  Experience in break/fix analysis and solution recommendation for finance related processes.
·  Good understanding in release upgrade or new functionality / enhancement assessment
·  Experienced in production configuration and provided assistance in functional change requests.
·  Experience with SAP Business Intelligence and analysis tools
·  Experience with SAP mobile solutions and usability products
·  Good understanding of software development, testing and release/change management.
·  International experience and experience working with global ERP roll-outs
·  In-depth knowledge of the relevant functional area: Procurement, Finance, Engagement Management

 
Supervision Responsibilities

·  Responsible for compliance with performance management objectives

Job Requirements

Education:

·  Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience

Experience:

·  Minimum of 8 years’ hands on SAP ABAP development and performace QA and 2 years of PO middleware experience gained through a combination of implementation projects and post go-live support in operations
·  Relevant functional experience
·  Deep understanding of SAP technical integration capabilities including PI/PO and all aspects of interface monitoring, error handling and restart / recovery procedures

 
Certification Requirements:

·  SAP certification preferred
