Job description

Position Summary:

This role provides PMO for portfolio projects and GDS service delivery governance. It requires methodical investigation, analysis, review and documentation of all or part of a service delivery in terms of Project, Program Management and portfolio governance. The PMO analyst will manage the documentation, tracking, coordinating, and reporting to the management.

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

·  Portfolio Communication
·  Conduct project and program reviews
·  Monitor Project Performance
·  Develop best practices, techniques & templates for Continuous Improvement
·  Track Training, Certifications & Development of portfolio PMs, Project Coordinators, and Service admins
·  Project & Portfolio Scheduling
·  Portfolio Reporting (finance, project status & compliance)
·  Project Milestone & Performance Reporting
·  Leadership Meeting support
·  Vendor Contract Maintenance & Invoice approval tracking
·  SharePoint documentation Management
·   MIS Reporting

 

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
·  Monitors and tracks the project baseline to ensure activities are occurring as planned - scope, budget and schedule – highlights the variances, drives the respective corrective actions with Program leads, Service owners and Project managers
·  Performance monitoring and reporting on project portfolio
·  Identifies & reports potential points of contention for missed deliverables
·  Under minimal supervision selecting the appropriate methods to deliver results to the business requirements
·  Selecting the appropriate analysis and tools and ensuring the results delivered are of high quality
·  Determining ‘fit for purpose’ requirements
·  Analytical skills and problem solving skills needed to manage multiple factors simultaneously
·   Demonstrate business analytics to manage and meet sponsor and customer needs
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
·  Experience working in large Multinational company, experience in working with global team – internal team members, External contractors, suppliers and vendors
·  Knowledge in project management methodology, tools and templates (includes project planning, schedule development, scope management and cost management)
·  Track record of customer focus, based on openness, trust, and delivering on promises
·  Not mandatory but desirable - management skills to manage one or more large, complex projects simultaneously
·  IT background with experience across the systems development life cycle with experience in all project phases – plan, initiate, elaborate, design, build, test, implement.
·  Knowledge and use of industry-standard project methods, tools and techniques e.g. RAIDS, budget, communication
·  Strong team working skills across matrixed client, supplier and geographically dispersed virtual teams
·  Strong communication and interpersonal skills
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
·  Knowledge in MIS reporting

Supervision Responsibilities:
·  No supervision responsibility, this role will be individual contributor role.
Other Requirements:
·  Willing to work in any shift – Early morning shift to cover countries like Australia/New Zealand, Late night shift up to 2:00am(IST) to cover North America and South American countries
Job Requirements:

Education:
·  Bachelor's degree; or equivalent work experience

Experience:
·  5 - 10 years in a corporate IT environment
·  3 – 5 years of PMO experience

Certification Requirements:
·  Familiarity with ITIL v2 or 3 would be advantageous
·   Project management certification (PMI/CAPM or PMP, PRINCE2) would be added advantage
