We need technology to provide EY’s professionals a world class communication and collaboration experience when working with each other, or their clients.  EY’s Microsoft Teams platform provides chat, meeting services, call services, channel collaboration and application workflows to over 300K users globally.   Teams has been deployed in a multi-geo setup as part of EY’s Office 365 tenant.  Within this complex environment, our aim is to ensure the Teams platform is highly performant and that the latest features are enabled as per the Firm’s needs.

 

The opportunity

 

The Deputy Product Manager assists the Product Manager by focusing on several activities: Teams feature roadmap, engineering and implementation of new capabilities, marketing and adoption efforts, operational quality, innovation, risk/security compliance etc.  The Deputy Product Manager has a responsibility to orchestrate these activities with the help of product managers, technical teams, deployment specialists, and support. 

Although good overall grasp of Office 365 (Teams / Skype) technology is needed, this role is not an in-depth technical role.

Your key responsibilities

 

The Deputy Product manager reports to the Product Manager and:

·  Puts together Teams feature roadmaps through dialogue with Microsoft and other Product Managers.
·  Critically assess the user experience that these features deliver
·  Create artefacts that clearly communicate the functional specifications, user stories and wireframes of features that they are responsible for.
·  Participates in the development of the (enterprise) go-to-market strategy
·  Determines KPI’s of key user experiences and how to measure them
·  Is able to present roadmaps or solution options to senior stakeholders, in the form of presentations, with clarity of thought, and recommended direction.
·  Proactively researches and evaluates feasibility of any new technologies that may improve the Teams product, and the value it brings to our organization and users
·  Sponsors initiatives to deliver more complex capabilities (for example the enablement of Teams Recording capabilities, or new Teams Analytics dashboards in Power BI) that help our the product team achieve better outcomes for our users 
·  Looks at how Teams is adopted by EY’s internal users and works out strategies to improve adoption or user experience.
·  Supports or oversees the team’s activities to meet deliverable dates for next generation services in accordance with best practices in the industry.
·  Understands project dynamics (scope, budget, risk management) and is able to direct project management and project teams to stay on track.
·  Works with Information Security and Risk teams to understand how their requirements can be met and ensures appropriate compliance.
·  Works with the Operations organization to ensure the platform is stable, and well supported
·  Manages the vendor(s) and internal teams that support the product to provide optimal service 

Skills and attributes for success

·  Proven experience in Service or Product Delivery
·  History of working credibly with senior stakeholders
·  Adapts personal communication style to the style of others, develops rapport and stays calm under pressure or escalating issues using advanced oral and written English communication skills. 
·  Strong verbal and written skills including strong cross-cultural communication and the ability to draft effective communications
·  Ability to work with people in a variety of cultures, countries and time zones
·  Utilizes all aspects of Emotional Intelligence to navigate the interactions and complexities of the business environment and drive leadership performance in oneself and in others.
·  A problem solver and collaborator who loves a good challenge

·  Can work in multiple product areas 

To qualify for the role you must have

·  Education:
·  Bachelor or Master degree in Information Technology or equivalent
·  Experience:
·  A minimum of 3 years of experience in Enterprise UC environments (for example Cisco, Microsoft, Google UC platforms).
·  A minimum of 3 years experience in product management, project management or Enterprise IT Infrastructure Management. 

Ideally, you’ll also have

·  Good semi-technical grasp of Office 365 technologies, preferably Skype / Teams.
