Job Summary

 

Seeking an experienced Windows/Network specialist to support the support the run state and normal operations of Information Security technologies. The role performs operational and Level 3 support for Information Security technologies. Responsibilities involve the daily management of incidents, operational maintenance and support, and proactive/preventative analysis of systems. Applications can reside in EY as well as within vendor facilities and the cloud. Responsibilities include driving the standardization and automation of processes and procedures for Information Security technologies, applying ITIL service management knowledge and techniques, and management of the planning, scheduling and implementation of changes/releases/upgrades to various environments.

 

Key Responsabilities  

 

The role requires a strong analytical acumen and solution orientation to influence and guide

network, platform and infrastructure operations security support efforts to avoid potential financial and operational risks to the firm and EY’s customers. The role possesses high-level critical thinking skills and the ability to quickly identify and understand where there are gaps in the support model and communicate or propose changes to the technical strategy to drive operational readiness measures. The role’s insight and proposed actions should strive to be strategic, look beyond ‘stop gap’ measures and seek to drive improvements to the technical operation and support of Information Security technologies in a manner that balances the firm’s security needs with the business impact and benefit. The role requires the ability to deal effectively and efficiently with escalations and time sensitive, difficult situations/people under pressure particularly in the area of restoration of services

•          Strong technical knowledge in managing Network, Windows, and Linux applications

•          Strong knowledge of Networking and the OSI model as well as OS level support

•          Re-creates, analyzes, troubleshoots, and diagnoses incidents relating to Information Security technologies in multi-tenency cloud environment

•          Determines root cause of incidents (configuration vs. defect)

•          Liaisons with appropriate teams from various technical disciplines for the development of corrective actions or viable workarounds to resolve incidents

•          Responds to automated alerts on the health of systems

•          Executes scheduled or unscheduled tasks relating to operational maintenance and monitoring of security technologies

•          Performs routine audits of systems for the purpose of preventative maintenance of security technologies and reporting on their status

•          Adheres to EY and ITIL guidelines for Incident, Problem and Change Management

•          Planning with security architecture on cloud security requirements.

•          Maintain a solid understanding of the entire Information Security Engineering and Architecture solution landscape.

•          Provide consultative guidance to security teams around best practices, deployment methods and operation/adoption of cloud focused security solutions.

•          Confirms that steps are taken to anticipate operational problems and that incidents are identified and resolved in a timely and efficient manner

•          Provides technical expertise to enable all necessary operational procedures

•          Communicates operational support issues on an ongoing-basis

•          Manages application enhancements to improve performance and stability

•          Works with Instrumentation team to enable customized monitoring for security technologies and that triage documentation is available to appropriately respond to alerts

•          Develops implementation plans for dealing with more complex requests for changes, evaluates risks to system availability and suggests improvements

•          Drives automation of redundant incident resolution activities to improve efficiencies in the support of Information Security technologies

•          Identifies and coordinates training as needed for GIS teams in the case of events affecting both the Domains and Operations as part of enhanced triage instructions for an application in transition and other special purposes requiring such specific support.

 

Skills

 

•          Breadth of knowledge and experience in a wide variety of technologies and software solutions

•          Demonstrable knowledge of one or more of the following disciplines: Unix/Linux, Windows 2012 server O/S, Web/IIS, networking/LAN/WAN/DMZ

•          Scripting – having knowledge and experience with Microsoft PowerShell (required) and Linux shell scripting (preferred). Being able to understand and use best practices of completing tasks and finding solutions using existing or building new scripts to help automate today’s manual infrastructure and application tasks. .r

•          Strong understanding of IPv4 subnetting

•          Possesses strong knowledge of the ServiceNow system to identify incidents within the queue, research incidents and enter remediation activities

•          Maintains a working knowledge of the overall technical operating environment to support proper recognition and impact of service issues and to position improvement opportunities as part of Security Technology Services' Production support

•          Manifests analytical and problem solving abilities to negotiate issues, handle ambiguity as well as changing priorities and to provide solutions that are both financially sound and operationally feasible

•          Possesses the proper time and incident management disciplines to self-direct improvement initiatives and to align activities throughout the incident life cycle

•          Adapts appropriate communication styles to the style of others. Develops rapport and remains calm under pressure. Builds relationships across a matrix, geographically and culturally dispersed organization utilizing proper oral and written English communication skills

•          Maintains a working knowledge of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) to recognize appropriate aspects in the Incident, Problem, Change processes and improvements 

•          The role will require you to be in an On Call rotation for escalation of production-related issues

•          The role may also require the periodic allocation of additional time on the job to support multiple demands and escalating issues or to accommodate teams or staff in other time zones.

Education:

 

Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience

 

Experience:

(What is minimum number of years needed/suggested to perform this job?)

•          Approximately 5 to 7 years working within Information Technology in a global firm

•          Over 1+ years’ experience of ITIL Incident Management and co-ordination in a large organization

•          Experience working with Information Security technologies a plus

•          Experience working in a global virtual environment

•          Strong English language skills are required – written and verbal

•          Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

•          Good time management, organizational, and decision-making skills

•          Good judgment, tact, and decision-making ability

•          Ability to understand and integrate cultural differences and motives and to work with cross cultural teams

Certification Requirements:

•          ITIL Foundational Certification is required.

•          Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or similar technical qualification a plus

•          COMPTIA SecurityShift : Monday to Friday 9-6PM
