Tax ITaligns with the business to develop, implement and manage the portfolio of technology solutions across the Tax service line. The Tax IT Service Delivery team is responsible for managing the programs and projects within their respective portfolios. As applicable, this includes:

 
· 
Providing demand management, project management, business analysis and transition management

· 
Working with Enterprise and Solutions Architecture and Strategy teams to determine application roadmaps, standards and enterprise architecture fit

· 
Working with Application and Infrastructure Engineering teams to design, architect and build the solutions

· 
Providing support for incident management and problem resolution

· 
Managing portfolio investment levels

· 
Monitoring and measuring the quality of the solutions delivered

Your key responsibilities

 

Business analyst facilitates business process improvement via the methodical investigation, analysis, review and documentation of all or part of a business in terms of business functions and processes. They manage the requirements development process through the elicitation, analysis, specification and verification of multiple levels of requirements (business, stakeholder, solution) and support the ongoing management of the requirements. Business analyst creates viable and consumable specifications including acceptance criteria in preparation for the construction and testing of IT solutions.

 

Skills and attributes for success

· 
Five to seven years in a corporate IT environment.

· 
IT Business Analyst with extensive experience in Tax Applications and its release cycle 

· 
Five to Eight years’ experience in business analysis or related technical field (application development, technical product owner, deployment/implementation and infrastructure).

· 
Business Analysis job with personal accountability for delivering and managing requirements to time and cost for moderately complex projects typically up to $0.5m in value, six months in duration, with multiple departments or business units.

· 
Experience in selecting and executing elicitation techniques such as Interviews, Exploratory Prototypes, Facilitated Workshops, Focus Groups, Observation, User Task Analysis, Documentation Study, and Surveys.

· 
Managing and negotiating with difficult and opinionated stakeholders with moderate supervision during elicitation sessions and during the development lifecycle.

· 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills — must be able to communicate fluently in English and Mandarin both verbally and in writing.   Fluency in a third language would be an added advantage

· 
Experience with Enterprise Analysis and overall Process Re–engineering including Business Process Modelling, Capability Gap Assessment, and definition of solution approach and scope.

· 
Development and deployment of formal business analysis methods and tools to govern and control programs at an excellent level in accordance with firm standards.

· 
Management of senior stakeholders’ expectations and requirements with regular supervision.

· 
Proficient at executing the determined methodology.

· 
Works in close collaboration with other teams including engineers, development, testing, implementation and support.

· 
Experienced in dealing with vendors from the point of view of requirements and delivery of the solution.

· 
Support IT business initiatives, its objectives, scope potential solutions based on cost, strategic fit and business impact

· 
Experienced in SharePoint technology, especially integration on client side, migrations and the app model design

·   Experienced in training staff in how to use the system, present prototypes and mock-up and ready solutions to stakeholders
·   Experience in scrum project management and Agile BA requirement writing and management
·  Experience in preparing use-cases, flow diagrams and swim-lanes 

Analytical/Decision making responsibilities

·  Following the project strategy to elicit and document requirements. Following the procedures on how the requirements will be managed (i.e., base lining requirements, requirements change control and requirements traceability).
·  Selecting the appropriate analysis and specification models and ensuring that requirements are of high quality.
·  Aware of emerging technologies.
·  Assessing change requests related to requirements to assess impact on the project.Accountability for quality of requirements impacting own project.
·  Expected to act independently to deliver and manage requirements to schedule, budget and scope.
·  Provide support as required and requested and is self-driven and motivated.

Suggested technical certification

·  Progressing towards a Business Analysis Certification (CCBA, — Certification of Competency in Business Analysis, or British Computer Society Business Analysis Diploma).
·  Familiarity with ITIL v2 or 3 would be advantageous

Supervision responsibilities

· 
Mentors and supports peers and junior team members.

· 
Leads business analyst project teams; directs or supervises a small team as needed; assigns responsibility to team members; monitors progress of less experienced business analysts.

· 
Participate in resource planning and recruitment activities as requested

IT Technical Skills:

 
· 
Business Process Improvement– Demonstrates the ability to apply key principles, practices and techniques related to the competency area to identify and communicate relevant ideas, data and recommendations related to the competency. Demonstrates the ability to apply basic concepts and practices consistently in structured, defined situations with limited supervision. Demonstrates the ability to research, formulate relevant questions and seek advice about specific concepts and practices to deepen learning and application skills related to the competency.

Business Modelling- Conducts advanced modelling activities for significant change programs and across multiple business functions. Has in–depth knowledge of organization standard techniques. Plans own modelling activities, selecting appropriate techniques and the correct level of detail for meeting assigned objectives. May contribute to discussions about the choice of the modelling approach to be used. Obtains input from and communicates modelling results to senior managers for agreement.

Business Analysis -Takes responsibility for investigative work to determine business requirements and specify effective business processes, through improvements in information systems, information management, practices, procedures, and organization change. Applies and monitors the use of required modelling and analysis tools, methods and standards, giving special consideration to business perspectives. Conducts investigations at a high level for strategy studies, business requirements specifications and feasibility studies. Identifies stakeholders and their business needs.

Methods and Tools -Promotes and ensures use of appropriate techniques, methodologies and tools.

· 
Stakeholder Relationship Management -Develops and manages one or more defined communication channels and/or stakeholder groups. Initiates communications between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact for defined groups. Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders. Captures and disseminates technical and business information. Facilitates the business change decision-making processes, and the planning and implementation of change.

· 
Requirements Definition and management -Facilitates scoping and business priority-setting for change initiatives of medium size and complexity. Contributes to selection of the most appropriate means of representing requirements in the context of a specific change initiative, ensuring traceability back to source. Discovers and analyses requirements for fitness for purpose as well as adherence to business objectives and consistency, challenging positively as appropriate. Obtains formal agreement by stakeholders and recipients to scope and requirements and establishes base–line on which delivery of a solution can commence. Manages requests for and the application of changes to base–lined requirements. Identifies the impact on requirements of interim (migration) scenarios as well as the required end position.

Usability Requirements Analysis -Selects and uses tools and methods to establish, clarify and communicate the non–functional requirements of system users, their characteristics and tasks, and identifies the technical, organizational and physical environment in which a complex products or systems will operate.

· 
Business Domain Knowledge -Developing an understanding of the customer services and business processes.
