Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline , we are looking for a Senior Manager to join and be a part of the ongoing success of our high performing Corporate Finance team.

The opportunity
 

Our Financial Services Corporate Finance team advises across a broad spectrum of equity and debt transactions within the Financial Services industry. We help our clients plan their capital investments, seize opportunities and achieve their strategic objectives.

The Financial Services Corporate Finance team at EY advises large and mid-cap financial institutions, private equity houses and entrepreneurial businesses on strategic/funding option reviews, acquisitions, disposals, raising equity and/or debt capital and debt refinancing.  We place a strong emphasis on exposing team members to varying sector experience within the different verticals of the Financial Services market, across both debt and equity transactions.

Through both formal and on-the-job learning, we will help you develop the skills to become an effective adviser, capable of providing objective and responsive advice to our clients across industries and geographies. Your key responsibilities

 

The role will focus on debt transactions.  Working with a Partner or Director, you will be leading the execution of transactions on a day-to-day basis. You’llWork closely with funders and other advisors as well as key company management team contacts to help prepare and review key transaction documentation such as information memorandums, management presentations, financial models,term sheets and discussion materials in relation todebt financing engagements. You will be originating and delivering transaction ideas, identifying opportunities, opening and leveraging relationships with clients and funders as well as supporting new business development, leading the development of pitch documents and taking an important role on client pitches.

You will also:
·  Developing deep sector expertise and assuming responsibility for the development of EY’s franchise in those sectors
·  Developing your own business network with a view to increasing your origination capabilities over the medium term
·  Playing an important role in the growth and development of the whole team, providing leadership to the junior team members, which may include additional counselling and coaching responsibilities
·  Interacting with different specialists within the firm, and colleagues across the globe, to deliver enhanced transaction solutions

Skills and attributes for success

As a Senior Manager in Corporate Finance you will require strong experience in an investment banking, corporate banking or rating agency environment, including experience playing a lead role in executing transactions.

To qualify for the role you must have

·  Track-record of originating, negotiating and executing deals in the financial services sector.  Experience in one or more of the following areas: Asset Backed Lending, Leverage Finance, Securitisation and other relevant verticals of these
·  Demonstrate confidence in client situations, gaining client acceptance and demonstrating value through advice, negotiating and sector insight
·  Experience in building good working relationships to drive new business through third parties, clients and funders
·  Committed to working to tight deadlines, practised at thinking clearly under pressure
·  Experience of running a deal team and maintaining team focus during lengthy and challenging transactions

Ideally, you’ll also have

·  Sound commercial judgement and an ability to generate creative solutions to problems and 'think on your feet'. 
·  Ability to identify potential deal opportunities
·  Demonstrate strong numerical and financial skills and an understanding of financial models and statements
·  Extensive experience in building financial models and run off models using various methodologies
·  Creative in the sourcing and use of information and able to make sensible assumptions where appropriate

What we look for

 

We’re interested in talented professionals with strong verbal communication and written presentation skills. Counselling/coaching experience is desirable andhaving deep knowledge of and familiarity with Loan Market Association loan documentation, and similar other similar legal contracts would be advantageous. Also, a deep knowledge of debt financing products, including pricing analysis, structuring debt, covenants etc.
