Thesis Assignment

Ericsson's commitment to world class products requires thorough robustness testing to ensure the quality and performance of the software, nodes, and systems we deliver.
Fuzzing is instrumental in discovering failure conditions due to unexpected behavior. Ericsson relies on best-of-class fuzzing tools from our partners whenever available, or on internal development when external support is lacking, as is the case for most of the Radio Protocols used in mobile telecommunication systems.

The main goal of this thesis is to enhance our existing Radio Protocol Fuzzer. The work includes both an element of theory and hands-on implementation.
Theoretical focus is on the design of alternative strategies to guide the fuzzer in selecting the most promising test cases based on feedback and experience.
The proposed strategies will also need to be implemented and evaluated in atest environment based on Erlang's Common Test framework.
