Job description

Job Summary:

We are looking for candidates for a Master Thesis on Deep Reinforcement Learning to research distributed agents for telecom functions and cloud deployments.

In the Networked Society, the amount of data will increase exponentially, with thousands of devices being connected to networks. With the rise of cloud computing and data centers, more and more network and IT functions become virtualized and are moved into the cloud. It is therefore crucial to research and develop systems that efficiently manage the resource usage for the applications based on the dynamic traffic load and to optimize the resource usage in the Cloud. A promising Artificial Intelligence technology to solve this goal is Reinforcement Learning (RL), where an agent learns how to act optimally given the system state information and a reward function, formalized as a Markov Decision Process. In dynamic, model-free environments, the RL agent needs to learn the optimal long term strategy without impacting system and service performance.

The objective of this thesis is to research models and algorithms in the area Reinforcement Learning and Artificial Neural Networks with specific focus on distributed agents like exploration in real time production systems, Generative Adversarial Nets (GAN), transfer of learning using multiple agents or global optimization with local policy update.

Key Qualifications:

·  Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or Engineering
·  Programming skills in Java, Python, Matlab, R
·  Very good knowledge about Artificial Neural Networks and Reinforcement Learning
·  Solid mathematical background
·  Innovative and creative thinking
·  Passionate to win
·  English written and spoken

The position is based in Stockholm, Sweden.
