Job description

Job Summary:

We are now looking for a Researcher for our Cloud Deployment and Orchestration research group to build and transfer technology competence to ensure technology leadership and profitable business for Ericsson by:

·  Developing concepts on distributed cloud and virtualisation technologies
·  Developing platform technologies for edge and device virtualisation
·  Contributing to Ericsson technology strategy
·  Developing novel concepts, solutions and algorithms
·  Introducing the solutions into product development
·  Presenting prototypes, concept demonstrations and publications

Responsibilities:

·  Perform, document and communicate research studies, measurements or computer simulations.
·  Create new technical solutions and protect them with Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
·  Represent Ericsson in external fora such as standardization, scientific conferences, university collaborations, and customer meetings
·  Develop Research strategies
·  Develop evaluation tools, demonstrators or test beds
·  Coordinate external research program activities

Key Qualifications:

·  Education: MSc or equivalent or PhD or Licentiate degree. Practical experience is not required.
·  Strong analytical skills and ability to acquire new knowledge and apply it in the job
·  Good communication skills in written and spoken English
·  Ability to formulate problems and solve them independently
·  Creativity and ability to work independently
·  Knowledge on Container, Serverless and Microservice technologies and architectures
·  Knowledge on service automation, Continuos Integration and Countinuos Deployment
·  Good programming skills in at least some of following languages: C/C++, Python, Go, Java, Javascript, nodejs
·  Knowledge of Unix Shell Scripting languages, RESTful and IP protocols is an advantage
·  Good Presentation & Communication skills

Additional Requirements:

·  Skills in supervising master thesis students
·  Ability to create Ericsson Internal and external contact network
·  Knowledge on Industrial IT solutions and Data Centers are considered as advantage
·  Knowledge on Internet of Things and Machine Intelligence are considered as advantage
