The Product Development Unit (PDU) 4G&5G is responsible for development, release and maintenance of both 4G and 5G Networks. To meet the next step, the PDU has accelerated the efforts towards 5G and the RAN Systems group within the PDU is responsible for specifying requirements and solutions for the RAN area. The group drives studies in early phases (concept evaluations and pre-studies) as well as securing characteristics through involvement in the Product Development and Testing phases. The department also contributes to the 3GPP standardization for 4G and 5G.

We are now looking for a Telecommunication passionate who wants to join us on this journey. If you have features programming or other experience in Telecommunication and now would like to decide how the product should behave by developing its architecture you are the one we looking for. We will guide you with Traffic or O&M domain functionality to become respected System Architect.

Responsibilities & Tasks:

For you as a System developer, there will be opportunities for several interesting and challenging tasks, such as driving studies, acting as a bridge to design and verification, taking responsibility for a specific technical area, KanBan master, standardization work, customer contacts and more.

Traffic area:

The main responsibility for the Traffic groups at RAN systems is the mobility area, embracing both 4G and 5G. Main technical challenges lie within areas referred to as Traffic Control and Traffic Optimization. They include functionalities and features such as Mobility Management, Mobile Handling, Machine Learning, Positioning and Observability. Looking towards 5G and beyond a more flexible and scalable architecture for 4G and 5G is a necessity, why the work with a new architecture suited for cloud deployment is ongoing.

O&M area:

The work in the Operation and Maintenance team is focused on developing new management solutions to give our customers a simple and cost-effective management for the 4G and 5G RAN. With the development of 5G, we introduce new distributed architecture and Cloud technologies lifting part of the Radio Network to a virtualized environment. To handle the increased complexity of the system we are introducing new technologies like orchestration, machine learning, automation and analytics.

You need to be creating and innovating and easily work with other people. You are expected to be able to plan and drive your own work, but also drive teams to reach common goals.

You are self-motivated and analytical with a high ability to understand, develop and drive technical solutions. It is important that you communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing. The daily work requires high abilities to work in teams as well as independently to achieve results on time and with quality.

Your profile:

·  MSc level in a technical discipline or the equivalent level of knowledge
·  Passionate in Telecommunication
·  Very good in written and spoken English
·  Three years of experience in Radio Networks development or programming (O&M and/or Traffic and/or BB and/or Capacity)
·  Strong self-drive, perseverance and communication skills
·  Lean & Agile knowledge and skills are beneficial
