4 Information about the function

The 2nd Level Assurance is a vital function of GNOC in GSC India. 2nd Level Assurance is responsible for the end-to-end 2nd Level technical support for the issues arising in Managed Services Customers' cellular network.

2nd Level Assurance is the extended support to the Front Office in fault management issues and responsible for the next level of restoration.

It's typically divided in several Competence Areas; each specialized in a specific technology or service.

5 Responsibilities

·  Overall System Administration of OSS.
·  Integration of Radio & Core Network Nodes with OSS.
·  End to end troubleshooting for the issues related to OSS Platform (Multivendor – Huawei Preferred M2000/U2000)
·  Integration of Radio & Core Network Nodes with OSS.
·  Perform release upgrades on live OSS Servers and roll-out.
·  Trouble Ticket /Change Request handling as per SLA/WLA.
·  Customer Service Requests (CSR) handling (Analysis, Troubleshooting, and Corrective Maintenance) for the complex faults.
·  To handle emergencies and on-call support (24X7).
·  Solution Management for Customized Business Object – Templates / Reports.
·  Co-ordination with Support Team.
·  Coordination with external suppliers for 3PP Hardware Support.
·  Administrator level experience in Business Objects, Citrix or similar tools
·  Knowledge in ENIQ & Sybase IQ

6 Competence Requirement

• Education: Degree in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent

• Experience: Minimum 2 to 4 years of relevant experience of which at least 2 year must have been spent working on Ericsson OSS-RC/Sun Solaris Systems.

Mandatory Technical Skills –

• Should have good knowledge & understanding of GSM / WCDMA.

• Good Knowledge & Skills on System Administration of Nokia Netact or ZTE EMS or Ericsson OSS RC or Huawei M2000/U2000/I2000.

• Preferably hands-on experience of Integration & Commissioning OSS.

• Good Knowledge & Understanding of SUN Solaris/UNIX (Preferably SUN Certified), TCP IP, Networking & Sybase environment

• Good SQL and database knowledge.

• Should have good knowledge & understanding of Support Processes.

Mandatory Human Skills –

• Should be customer oriented.

• Should work well under time constraints.

• Should have good oral & written communication skills.

• Should actively contribute to improvements and changes.
